✨ Introducing the newest member of the JIWS family! ✨

We are SO excited to welcome Toriana Gresham to the team as our Case Management Intern! 🎉

If you've ever wondered what happens between therapy sessions — who helps connect the dots, find the right resources, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks — that's exactly where Toriana comes in.

Toriana brings over 7 years of experience in behavioral health, healthcare support, and community-based programming. She's currently completing her Master of Social Work at Florida State University and has her MBA.

But what we love most?

The way she shows up for people. She understands that healing doesn't happen in a vacuum — and she's here to make sure our clients feel supported at every step of their journey.

We are building something special here at JIWS, and Toriana is a beautiful part of that.

Welcome to the family, Toriana! 🤎

Here’s the truth: You can have the career, the achievements, the life that looks good from the outside, and still feel empty inside.

That gap between how things look and how they feel? Self-love closes it.
Self-love isn't about bubble baths and face masks (though those are nice 🛁). It's about:

💜 Knowing your worth isn't tied to your productivity
💜 Trusting your desires matter as much as everyone else's
💜 Breaking the inherited pattern of putting yourself last
💜 Believing you deserve joy without earning it through suffering

For accomplished Black women, self-love is revolutionary. It means unlearning generations of survival scripts that told you to stay small, give more, need less.

Reflection: What would self-love look like for you today—not the Instagram version, but the real, honest, exactly-what-you-need version?

Drop it in the comments. Your answer might be exactly what someone else needs to hear. 👇🏾

At Javery Integrative Wellness Services, we help accomplished Black women transform external success into internal satisfaction through culturally responsive, holistic therapy that honors both your achievements and your authentic desires.

Self-love isn’t selfish, it’s sustainable.

You were taught that your worth is in how much you give, how strong you stay, and how much you sacrifice. But pouring from an empty cup isn’t strength, it’s survival mode.

Real self-love means boundaries without guilt. Rest before burnout. Needs that matter just as much as everyone else’s.

You deserve to pour from overflow, not depletion. 🤍

MEET QUINTON STRIPLING: The Expert Guidance Behind Your Therapist's Expertise

Most people don't think about clinical supervision when choosing a therapy practice. But here's why it should matter to you:
When you work with a JIWS therapist, they're backed by Quinton Stripling, MS, LPC—our Clinical Supervisor who ensures every client gets exceptional care.

What does a clinical supervisor do?

Think of Quinton as the expert resource your therapist can turn to for:
✓ Complex case consultation (with your consent) when your situation needs multiple perspectives
✓ Clinical guidance on challenging therapeutic situations
✓ Quality assurance to ensure every client receives evidence-based, effective care
✓ Professional development so therapists continue growing their skills
✓ Additional clinical perspective when it would benefit your treatment
✓ Support for therapists so they can show up fully present for you

Quinton's Background:
Master of Science (MS) in Counseling from Fort Valley State University
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Georgia
Specializes in anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions
Expert in supporting teens, young adults, and adults who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain
Helps therapists build confidence and navigate challenges with evidence-based tools

What this means for YOUR therapy:
When you work with ANY JIWS therapist, you're getting:
Your therapist's specialized expertise in their area (couples, grief, fertility, etc.)
Natasha Riley's clinical oversight as Founder & Clinical Director
Quinton's supervisory guidance providing additional perspective and quality assurance
It's like having a whole TEAM of clinical experts backing your healing journey—even though you only meet with one therapist.

Why this matters:
Some therapy practices hire therapists and leave them to figure things out alone.

At JIWS, we invest in:
→ Clinical supervision to ensure quality care
→ Ongoing training so therapists stay current with best practices
→ Team collaboration (with client consent) when multiple perspectives help
→ Professional development so your therapist is always growing

This is what sets JIWS apart from directory listings or solo practitioners:
You're not just hiring ONE person and hoping they're good. You're getting a PRACTICE designed for excellence. A TEAM invested in your healing. A STRUCTURE that ensures exceptional care.

Real talk:
Most clients never meet or think about their therapist's clinical supervisor. And that's okay! Quinton works behind the scenes.
But knowing this support structure exists should give you confidence that:
Your therapist has expert guidance when needed
Your care is backed by multiple levels of clinical expertise
Quality assurance is built into the JIWS model
You're getting more than just one person's perspective
That's the JIWS difference.

Ready to work with a team that takes your care this seriously?

Complete our intake form (link below) and our Client Care Coordinator will match you with the perfect therapist. You'll hear back within 24-48 hours.

Meet Lilly Mallette, M.Ed, APC, NCC—the therapist who provides compassionate support for Black women navigating the fertility journey.

The fertility journey can feel devastatingly lonely.

The disappointing pregnancy tests month after month.

The well-meaning but painful questions from family ("When are you having kids?").

The grief that no one talks about.

The financial stress of treatment.

The toll on your relationship.

The feeling that your body has somehow betrayed you.

And as a Black woman, you may also carry:

→ Cultural expectations about motherhood and family
→ Stereotypes about Black fertility
→ Pressure to stay "strong" through it all
→ Healthcare experiences where you weren't believed or heard
→ The isolation of navigating this in communities that don't always talk openly about infertility

You don't have to carry this alone.

Lilly specializes in supporting Black women through:

✓ Infertility and fertility treatment (IVF, IUI, etc.)
✓ Pregnancy loss and recurrent miscarriage
✓ Postpartum depression and anxiety
✓ Maternal mental health concerns
✓ The emotional toll of trying to conceive
✓ Relationship strain during the fertility journey
✓ Deciding when to stop treatment or pursue other paths

Her approach:

Lilly creates a safe space where you can express the FULL range of emotions—anger, grief, hope, fear, exhaustion—without judgment.

She uses CBT, Narrative Therapy, and trauma-informed care to help you process the emotional weight of this journey while honoring your strength and resilience as a Black woman.

She understands that healing happens both personally and communally—especially for women of color whose reproductive experiences are often overlooked in traditional healthcare.

Background:

→ Master's of Education (M.Ed) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
→ Associate Professional Counselor (APC)
→ National Certified Counselor (NCC)
→ 4+ years supporting women through trauma, anxiety, depression, reproductive challenges
→ Originally from Hinesville, Georgia
→ Supervised by Natasha Riley, LPC, CPCS
→ Virtual sessions | Aetna & Cigna and self-pay available

Who she serves best:

Black women navigating fertility challenges who need support that honors both their vulnerability and their strength.

Anyone processing the complex emotions of the reproductive journey—hope, grief, anger, exhaustion, and everything in between.

MEET KIMA BLY: The Therapist Who Honors Your Strength AND Your Grief

"Who holds space for you when you're always the strong one?"

That's the question Kima Bly, MS, LPC, NCC helps Black women answer.
You've been the strong friend. The daughter who handles it. The professional who keeps it together. The woman who processes her pain in private because everyone else needs you to be okay.

But here's what Kima knows that changed everything for her clients:
Strength isn't the absence of grief. It's having the courage to feel it anyway.

Kima specializes in supporting Black women through:
→ Grief and loss (relationships, loved ones, identity, dreams that didn't come true)
→ Trauma processing (both big-T and little-t trauma)
→ Life transitions that shake your foundation
→ The exhaustion of being "the strong one"
→ Anxiety, depression, and difficult emotions that don't have easy answers

What makes Kima's approach different:
She doesn't rush your grief or expect you to "get over it" on anyone else's timeline. She understands that healing isn't linear—some days you'll feel better, some days the waves crash all over again. And that's not failure. That's grief.

In Kima's space, there's room for:
✓ The anger that no one wants to hear
✓ The questions that have no answers
✓ The grief that comes in unpredictable waves
✓ The parts of you that feel "too much" for everyone else
✓ Both your incredible strength AND your deep vulnerability

Her approach: Trauma-informed, culturally responsive care that honors your resilience while creating authentic space for healing. You don't have to perform strength in her office. You just have to show up as you are.

Background:
Master of Science (MS) in Mental Health Counseling
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
National Certified Counselor (NCC)
Virtual sessions throughout Georgia

Who Kima serves best:
Black women who've carried everyone else's burdens and are finally ready to set them down. People processing loss in all its forms—death, divorce, dreams deferred, identity shifts. Anyone with unprocessed trauma who needs a guide who won't rush the journey.

A word from past clients:
"I didn't realize how much I was holding until Kima gave me permission to put it down."
"She let me be angry without making me feel like I was too much."
"For the first time, I didn't have to be strong. I could just... be."

Ready to be held in your grief?

You don't have to carry this alone anymore.

Complete our intake form (link below) and request Kima. Our Client Care

Coordinator will connect you within 24-48 hours.

MEET TAKEIA MAYS: Your Guide to Deeper Connection

If your relationship looks good from the outside but doesn't feel good on the inside—Takeia gets it.

She works with Black couples who have achieved external success (good careers, nice homes, presentable lives) but feel disconnected when it's just the two of them.

The patterns she helps couples break:
→ Surface-level conversations that avoid real issues
→ Fading intimacy and mismatched desire
→ Pursuing/withdrawing cycles that leave both partners frustrated
→ Success as individuals but struggle as a couple
→ Same arguments on repeat with no resolution

Here's Takeia's perspective:
"Most relationship struggles aren't about not loving each other—they're about not knowing HOW to communicate needs, navigate differences, or break patterns that keep you stuck."

Her Approach:
Takeia creates a judgment-free space where both partners feel heard and valued. She uses evidence-based couples therapy combined with culturally responsive care that honors the unique experiences of Black couples.
You'll explore what's really underneath the surface conflicts. Learn practical communication skills. Rebuild emotional and physical connection. Break cycles that no longer serve you.

Takeia also supports individuals with:
Anxiety and depression
Relationship challenges
Personal growth journeys
Life transitions
(Especially when these concerns affect intimate relationships)

Fun Fact: Takeia is the author of "Waiting to Exhale"—a self-care and gratitude journal designed to support emotional wellness and mindfulness.

Background:
Master of Social Work (MSW)
Specializing in s*x therapy and couples counseling
Supervised by Natasha Riley, LPC, CPCS (Clinical Director)
Virtual sessions throughout Georgia
Aetna & Cigna insurance accepted | Self-pay available

Who Takeia serves best:
Black couples and individuals who are high-achieving, ambitious, and tired of looking successful while feeling empty. People ready to break generational patterns and create relationships based on authentic connection, not just obligation or appearance.

Ready to rebuild your connection?

Complete our intake form (link below) and request Takeia. Our Client Care
Coordinator will connect you and you'll hear back within 24-48 hours.

Here's something most people don't know about JIWS:

When you work with one of our therapists, you're not just getting that ONE person figuring things out alone. You're getting a whole TEAM backing your care.

Every JIWS therapist is supported by TWO levels of clinical supervision:

Natasha Riley, LPC, CPCS - Founder & Clinical Director with 9+ years experience, specialized training in s*x therapy, somatic healing, and culturally responsive care for Black women

Quinton Stripling, MS, LPC - Clinical Supervisor specializing in anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions with expertise in supporting diverse populations

What this means for YOUR care:

✓ Your therapist has expert guidance on complex cases
✓ Multiple perspectives ensure you're getting the best approach
✓ Ongoing quality assurance and professional development
✓ A safety net if your needs evolve or shift
✓ Team collaboration (with your consent) when helpful

This isn't just "find a therapist on a directory and hope they're good."

This is a PRACTICE intentionally designed for clinical excellence. A TEAM genuinely invested in your healing. A STRUCTURE that ensures every client gets exceptional care.

This week, we're introducing you to the team—one member per day:

🌟 Natasha Riley - Founder & Clinical Director (you met her last week!)

💑 Takeia Mays - The couples therapist who helps relationships feel as good as they look

💔 Kima Bly - The grief & trauma specialist who holds space for your hardest moments

🌱 Lilly Mallette - The fertility therapist who walks WITH you through the reproductive journey

🎯 Quinton Stripling - The clinical supervisor ensuring excellence behind the scenes

We won't just share their credentials (though they're impressive).

We'll introduce you to them as PEOPLE—what lights them up, who they serve best, why they chose this work, and how they show up for YOU.

Because you deserve to know the humans who will guide you from surviving to thriving.

Stay tuned all week. 💙
