2025 Georgia Mission Highlights: 5,000 Reasons Georgia Families are Safer

Through the Red Cross Home Fire Campaign, our volunteers and partners in Georgia installed more than 5,000 free smoke alarms, shared safety information and made approximately 1,800 homes safer in fiscal year 2025.

As we reflect on the stories that made 2025 memorable, we’re reminded that home fires are the most common disaster the Red Cross responds to day in and day out. Your generosity helps keep your neighbors safer if the unthinkable happens.

Happy retirement to Mike Riemann after a decade of service with the Red Cross.

Mike began his American Red Cross career in early 2015 as Community Disaster Program Manager for the Northeast Georgia Chapter. He supported 21 counties, collaborating with emergency management agencies and fire departments to provide preparedness, response and recovery disaster services throughout the chapter.

Thank you, Mike. We'll miss you.
