I just spent an hour participating in a Human Trafficking webinar. I know that I have shared information about trafficking with you in the past but I want to provide a few reminders:

Human Trafficking includes labor but mainly s*x
80% of women are trafficked
50% of children are trafficked (male and female)
These are US stats
50% of people trafficked are minors
40% of people trafficked are black
23% are Hispanic
5% are minorities
A large percent of all of people trafficked are part of the LGBTQ community.

Popular places and events for Trafficking include: California, Texas, Miami, Atlanta, (Major transportation hubs)

Super Bowl, Basketball Championships (basically major sporting events),

The Democratic and Republican National Conventions
Truck Stops, Hotels, and Gay Pride are all major events where enslaved people are trafficked for s*x.

People who live in poverty or have a low SES, are homeless, have unstable families, are at risk for being trafficked.

If you see older men/women at hotels or some place inappropriate with a younger boy or girl- report it.

You could help save their lives. If you're in Atlanta and want to get involved with my advocacy org and/or join the public policy committee I chair, contact me!

If you're not in Atlanta, join an organization in your city or state.

If you are a teen or young adult who needs job training or employment and you live in Fulton County, GA. I encourage you to visit Adamsville Regional Health Center. The Career Exploration Program is for ages 16-21! There is an opportunity for them to have their training PAID FOR by the county call 404-613-6381 for details. They are having a session tomorrow @ 5:30pm. You have to CALL to ATTEND!

ADULTS in Fulton County!! The Workforce Investment Act conduct Information Sessions on Tuesday's at 9:30am and 2:00pm. Call 404-613-6381 to register! You must Register in order to be able to attend!

If you currently have a CDA or are in classes for them, I am a PD Specialist for the Council for Professional Recognition that awards the credential (CDA) and can conduct your assessment. (You don't have to pay me).

Last but not least, if you have a degree in ECE (Early Childhood Education, a TCC (Technical Certificate of Completion), or a CDA, I AM PAYING FOR 2 adults gift membership to OMEP-USA.
