When Life Changes Without Permission 🥺
How do you move forward when everything you’ve ever known… is suddenly gone?
When you’ve spent a lifetime being a wife, a partner, a nurturer building a home, pouring into a marriage, and creating a world that revolved around love and then one day, that world shifts in a way you never imagined… it can feel like you’ve lost not only your person, but pieces of yourself too.
For many women who have been homemakers, losing a husband later in life can bring a unique kind of heartbreak. The silence in the house feels louder. The routines that once brought comfort now feel empty. The identity you carried with pride may feel uncertain. There can be grief, loneliness, fear, and even moments of wondering, “Who am I now?”
And those feelings are real. They deserve to be honored.
But here’s the truth that still stands, even in the middle of loss:
You were never just a wife.
You were always a whole, vibrant, evolving soul.
The love you gave, the life you built, the memories you created those don’t disappear. They live in you. And even now, there is still life left to live, purpose still waiting to unfold, and joy that can still find its way back to you in new forms.
Moving forward doesn’t mean forgetting.
It means learning how to carry love differently.
It may look like rediscovering yourself… slowly.
Trying new things… gently.
Finding moments of laughter again… without guilt.
Healing is not a straight line. Some days will feel heavy, others a little lighter. But step by step, breath by breath you are still here, and that means your story is not over.
You were interesting.
You are interesting.
And you will always be interesting because your life holds value far beyond any one role.
And sending a very special shoutout to Mrs. Ernestine 💛
We are so grateful you joined us at Soul Care Sessions yesterday! Your spirit lit up the room and yes ma’am, those knees worked just fine! We had us a good ole dance and a whole lot of joy. Sending you so much love!
