The only permission you require is yours... PERIOD.⁣

Friday I wrapped up the Healthy Habits That Stick Challenge [which was amazing btw... you definitely want to join the next one!].⁣

In one of the last sessions I addressed a question that I got about motivation. I shared that for most high-achieving women, the problem is very rarely motivation... but an issue with PERMISSION.⁣

We often don't give ourselves the permission to do the things we need or want to do because we're too busy taking care of other people's wants and needs.⁣

So we put it off, we make excuses, we convince ourselves that we really don't want/need to do it... while slowly moving further and further away from our own goals. ⁣

Normally I would be on to the next set of "shoulds", but this week I choose to silence that. ⁣

This week I'm giving myself permission to hit PAUSE and reflect on what I accomplished last week and quietly prepare for what I have coming up. ⁣

Drop your "I give myself permission to" {blank} in the comments 👇🏾⁣

What did you talk yourself out of starting this week?⁣

So this week I'm hosting the Healthy Habits That Stick Challenge and it's been so rewarding to help the women who are showing up lay a good foundation for setting goals to build habits that actually work FOR, not AGAINST them. ⁣

Yesterday I shared how mindset, or rather what you ground yourself in, has a great impact on your ability to set and achieve goals. ⁣

The voice that you listen to the most is the voice you'll start to believe and act on.⁣

Oftentimes what I find is that instead of setting the goal and moving forward, women allow negative thoughts to take over.⁣

Have you found yourself saying any of these things?⁣

❌ I don't want to embarrass myself by doing 'x'⁣
❌ I've tried everything, nothing works ⁣
❌ Maybe I'm just not meant to have 'x'⁣
❌ I just don't compare (to whoever's highlight reel you've been watching)⁣

The path of least resistance is to believe what's not possible... it doesn't require you to stretch, to get uncomfortable, to believe in what you can't see right now.⁣

But I want to remind you today that you are called to do EXACTLY that. ⁣

🤷🏾‍♀️ So what you've never ran a marathon before ⁣

🤷🏾‍♀️ So what you didn't grow up eating like that ⁣

🤷🏾‍♀️ So what everyone always expects you to say yes⁣

If you can SEE it for yourself, it IS possible for you to achieve it 🙌🏾⁣

Being your best self is NOT where your comfort resides. ⁣

So the next time that little (or loud) voice chimes in trying to tell you what you're not capable of, do these 3 things to combat those negative thoughts and get moving towards your goals. ⁣

1️⃣ Identify the negative thought pattern⁣
2️⃣ Replace the negative thoughts with God's truth⁣
3️⃣ Be cautious who you allow to speak into you⁣

Drop a 🙌🏾 in the comments if you're with me on combating negative thoughts this week. ⁣

5 ways to detox that don't involve food ⁣

What comes to mind when you hear the word detox?⁣

You probably think about:⁣

➡️ giving up certain foods⁣
➡️ juicing⁣
➡️ taking some type of pill to cleanse when you think of a detox⁣

You wouldn't be wrong, but being healthy is so much more than what goes in your mouth or if you're pooping regularly⁣

I break health down into 5 pillars and can tell you from experience, most women have poor habits in several of them... not just nutrition⁣

Let's go beyond food with these 5 ways to detox: ⁣

🙌🏾 Put 'do not disturb' on your phone and read for an hour⁣

🙌🏾 Delete social media apps for 24 hours and be present with those around you⁣

🙌🏾 Pause Netflix, get up and move⁣

🙌🏾 Skip texting, make a phone call and have a real conversation ⁣

🙌🏾 Show your skin some love with a facial ⁣

Drop a 🙌🏾 or comment 💬 if you're detoxing with me today!⁣

📍Don't forget to save for later and and tag me when your share so I can show some love back⁣

Did I hear you say "I'm starting over on Monday"?

I feel like Wednesday is the day all health goals go to die lol... but seriously!

You start of strong then something happens that throws you off your A-game and you convince yourself NEXT WEEK will be better.

I’m here for the positive self talk! But there’s this one little thing…

You can talk about what you want to change. You can even have access to the resources to do so. But if you don’t change you (how you operate that is), you’ll be doing the same thing come next week.

What I find is there are three things lacking that keep you stuck saying the same thing week AFTER week 😩

Things like…

“I’m going to eat healthier” or “I’m going to start working out” or “I’m going to stop doing everything for everybody”.

If you’re ready to stop saying and start DOING, start with these 3 steps.

📍Visualize: What does your future self look like, what healthy foods is she eating, what physical activity is she enjoying, what things is she saying ‘no’ to in order to prioritize herself (get detailed). This gives you the ability to start making decisions that serve your future self vs. how you currently feel.

📍Plan: Create 1-2 small goals, write them down, reference them often, rinse, repeat.

📍Seek Community: Seek support and accountability to help you stay on track. This could be as simple as buddying up with a friend all the way to hiring a coach (BE REAL with yourself about the level of support you need then get it).

Next week can be the last week you say "I'm starting over on Monday" IF you join me for The Healthy Habits That Stick Challenge starting next week 📅

I'm gettting you all the way together by teaching you how to replace habits that no longer serve you with habits that will have you feeling and looking your best. Drop a 🙌🏾 in the comments if you need the link!

Tried to drink my water and mind my business BUT you need to hear this. You don't need a ‘new thing’... you just need to focus on the ONE thing⁣

A couple years ago I purchased a circular saw for a diy project I saw on Pinterest. ⁣Problem was, I had no idea how to use it, despite reading the instructions and watching Youtube videos. ⁣

I could have easily started searching for a new one, but that wouldn’t have made a difference. ⁣

I really just needed someone show me how to PROPERLY use the one I already owned (thanks Dad!).⁣

Although I've been able to "teach" myself how to do a lot of things, I also know when I need someone with experience to show me.⁣

The same may ring true for some of the tools you think are necessary to reach your health goals (think meal plans, workouts, meal prep strategies, the top 10 self care habits, etc.).⁣

All of those tools are great (and necessary), but if you have a full email inbox or several Pinterest boards without the RESULTS to show for it then you may need to switch up your strategy.⁣

Do yourself a favor and stop wasting time and use MY experience to start getting results. ⁣

You don't get a medal for struggling on your own. Join my free 5 day Habits That Stick Challenge to learn and take action on the ONE thing to get you moving towards your health goals. Link to join in my bio or comment here 👇🏾⁣

So your schedule stays booked and busy 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾⁣

What does your health have to show for it?⁣

Now, I'm not throwing shade because I used to wear my busyness like a badge of honor too.⁣

If you told me you had 9 things on your to- do list, I had to tell you about the 10 on mine... like it somehow made me more (of what I have no idea).⁣

❌ But my sleep was crap [hello 3 a.m. IG scroll]⁣

❌ My life lacked joy which showed up in my relationships ⁣

❌ Poor prioritization led to poor choices that didn't serve me well⁣

Looking back, I realize that while I was busy, I wasn't always productive. ⁣

And more recently I've learned that we can be productive and STILL NOT be doing things that are moving us in the direction of our goals. ⁣

Now, I prioritize habits that are in line with my health goals (and I'm not just talking about food and exercise).⁣

My free 5 day Habits That Stick Challenge will help you do the same.⁣

It's time to stop glorifying busyness and START creating habits that will allow you to live life well. Link to sign up in my bio or comment below 👇🏾⁣

[Clears throat] Sis, you’re not planning… you’re procrastinating. Stop with this simple fix. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
When it comes to setting health goals there is definitely a planning stage that you don’t want to skip. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
But if you’re spending so much time planning that you actually never get started… you might just be stalling.⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
I know it’s not easy to admit because you’re a go-getter, but guess what? You’re not alone. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
My clients are go-getters too with careers and families. Taking care of themselves gets put last on the list, being well is an afterthought. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Here are two common reasons I see procrastination show up:⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
1️⃣ Decision fatigue. You command a household, your career and/or business, and you’re the go-to person with family/friends. With so many other decisions to make, you have no clue where to even start addressing your OWN health goals.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
2️⃣ Poor guidance. You’re tired of quick fixes BUT you don’t have a step-by-step process to undo the habits that no longer serve you while implementing new habits that do.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣Essentially, your focus is blurry because you’re too close to the situation. ⁣

And rather than make the wrong decision, potentially fail, and have to start over AGAIN, you spend weeks (or months) planning to start on Monday.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
SOUND FAMILIAR?⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
If so, here’s what you need to do to get started.⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
✅ Pick ONE area of your health to address that will make the greatest immediate impact⁣⁣
✅ Set a SMALL achievable goal in this area⁣⁣
Stick with it for AT LEAST 30 days before moving on to the next thing⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I know that this isn’t the quick fix that others may promise, but it’s what gives REAL sustainable results. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
If you want a taste of what life can be like when you stop procrastinating and START using a proven method for creating healthy habits that stick, join me for my first ever Healthy Habits That Stick Challenge. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
5 focused days with me will shift your whole perspective! Link to join the challenge in my bio or comment here and I'll shoot you a DM.

Is it just me or did March sneak on in while no one was watching? ⁣

When I think back to last year this time, most of us didn't realize that the next 365 days would be cray cray 🥴⁣

What I do know is that it did cause most of us not to take our health for granted any longer⁣

You may have decided this year was going to be different... ⁣

Eating healthier, moving more, and maybe even saying 'no' a little more often⁣

Yet here we are in March and you're no closer to your goals as you were last year⁣

I have no doubt you want different results, but that requires making different decisions ⁣

The thing is, making different decisions is hard... between work, family, and social obligations, it's so easy to fall into the same routine ⁣

Unfortunately, the same routine = same results⁣

I know it's frustrating to keep going in circles, so let me share a tip on how to move forward ⁣

✅ First, get clear on what aspect of your health you need to focus on in this season⁣

✅ Second, set a goal that aligns with that focus⁣

✅ Third, create an action plan to meet that goal⁣

Essentially, you have to DECIDE to intentionally create new habits⁣

I created the Healthy Habits That Stick Challenge help you do just that.⁣

Over 5 days I'll be doing live trainings to walk you through the same process I use with my clients and giving you daily steps to take imperfect action. ⁣

This challenge is for you if you STRUGGLE with creating new habits and are ready for DIFFERENT results. ⁣

Can we have a candid conversation about the whole thing?⁣

It's natural for your eye to be drawn to bodies that are presented to us as visually pleasing. ⁣

I'll admit that when I first started my weight training journey I scrolled through IG saving pics of physiques I thought I could recreate if I worked hard enough. ⁣

Instead of being a source of motivation, it quickly became a source of comparison and all the things I THOUGHT were wrong with my body.⁣

It took a big mindset shift, but now I can appreciate a nice physique WITHOUT feeling like my own measures up short.⁣

I focus on treating my body well and that includes how I talk about it [even the thoughts that don't leave my mouth].⁣

Are you caught in the comparison trap? ⁣

The truth is, you can eat all the same foods and do all the same workouts, but your body has it's own natural predisposition.⁣

Instead, learn to speak kindly about and treat YOUR body well. That's real !⁣

Let's spread some and share what you love about your body in the comments 👇🏾 and tag a friend who needs to hear this today ❤⁣
