Today! Community-Based Doula Day at the Georgia State Capitol on March 31, 2026 is a rally and advocacy event that brings together doulas, families, birthworkers, clinicians, and maternal health champions from across the state. This gathering uplifts the critical role of community-based doulas in improving birth outcomes and advancing maternal health equity in Georgia.
The day will begin with a convening inside the Capitol from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, where participants will engage in a statewide discussion on the roles, responsibilities, and definition of community-based doulas, followed by a policy conversation on current maternal health legislation. This space will allow doulas and community members to engage directly in dialogue about the future of doula care and maternal health policy in Georgia.
Following the convening, participants will transition to Liberty Plaza for a public rally from 1:00 – 3:00 PM. The rally will feature voices from doulas, maternal and child health leaders, reproductive justice advocates, clinicians, and families sharing lived experiences and perspectives on the importance of equitable, community-centered birth support.
Together, we will raise awareness among policymakers and the public while calling for equitable access, fair compensation, and sustainable support for community-based doula care across Georgia.
We invite doulas, birthworkers, maternal and child health professionals, families, advocates, clinicians, and community members to join us as we stand together for birth justice and maternal health equity in Georgia.
