In his early 20’s Vince was involved in a catastrophic accident that resulted in several life altering medical conditions. Vince was a lineman for a power company and while grabbing a tool from the truck he received a high voltage electrocution. It is truly a miracle that he was able to pull thru and survive such an unthinkable event.
After months in the hospital and endless skin graphs and surgeries, he was finally released and on the road to recovery…but things would never be the same. Initially, Vince had to deal with major nerve damage, memory loss, depression and the loss of his leg. After intense physical therapy and learning how to walk with a prosthetic leg, he moved on with his life. About 6 years after his initial accident more medical issues arose and he was forced to go on disability. He was now dealing with chronic pain and was diagnosed with PTSD. Also because of the severity of the accident he had two more surgeries. To date he has had 3 back surgeries to remove ruptured disks.
For the past 20 something years Vince has had to depend on daily medication just to get out of bed. Medicine for the pain, depression, restless leg syndrome, neuropathy, diabetes, high blood pressure and so on. At one point he was taking 40+ pills per day…for a 40-year-old, that is crazy.
