Choosing the right dressing shouldn’t be a guessing game. Yet for many clinicians, wound management can feel complicated. Every wound brings its own challenges. Add the pressure of cost control and formulary restrictions, and it’s easy to see why dressing selection can become inconsistent.

That’s why Mölnlycke created the Key 3 Pathway. This guide distills three critical factors — infection risk, exudate level, and wound depth — into a straightforward decision tool you can use at the point of care. By mapping these factors to our trusted portfolio, the Key 3 Pathway helps clinicians deliver consistent care while reducing variation.

Horizontal approaches to infection prevention, such as CHG bathing, can be highly effective in improving patient outcomes and providing organizational value.

In the last video of our short series Safe Skin, Safe Patients: The Value of Patient Hygiene, Dr. Linda McKinley, RN, PhD, MPH, CIC, FAPIC, shares how roundtable participants indicated that a horizontal approach was the most effective method for reducing the risks of HAIs.
This included strategies such as:
• Standard precautions
• Hand hygiene
• Antimicrobial stewardship
• Environmental cleaning
• And crucially, daily CHG bathing.

Healthcare-associated infections remain an ongoing challenge for healthcare facilities. Despite the best efforts of HCWs, patients face a high risk of infection and longer hospital stays, leading to increased financial burdens for hospitals and health systems. It is therefore vital that healthcare environments implement best practice protocols and minimize avoidable risks.

Are you implementing a horizontal approach within your facility?
