Maija Salins, LMT, CST-D, SEP Helping you move from stress and pain into ease and well-being with CranioSacral Therapy. Are stress and discomfort interfering with your life?

Perhaps you're feeling "burned out" or “stuck” in some way. Maybe you're dealing with challenges such as:

-Headaches, migraines, or post-concussion syndrome
-Neck and back pain
-TMJ dysfunction
-Anxiety, insomnia, or post-traumatic stress
-A general sense of “dis-ease,” whether physical, emotional, or spiritual

Or maybe you're a parent of a little one who is experiencing discomforts like:

-Feeding difficulties
-Colic and reflux
-Tensions in the body related to tongue and lip ties
-Torticollis and plagiocephaly
-Birth trauma

You are not alone. When you aren’t feeling your best, you need more than symptom relief. You need support for your body’s innate healing wisdom so that problems can be gently released at the source. With this support, people like you have experienced effects such as:

-A greater sense of comfort, resilience, connection, and ease in the body/mind/spirit
-Better sleep
-Improved mental clarity
-Greater ability to deal with life’s stresses
-More energy to do the things you love

And parents of infants have noticed effects such as:
-Better feeding
-Better sleep
-Increased calmness
-Increased body symmetry and improved body functioning
-Improved social engagement

I'm here to help. I’m Maija Salins, and I’ve supported many people just like you with CranioSacral Therapy, a gentle, light touch approach that facilitates your body’s innate ability to correct and heal itself. By engaging the tissues and fluids surrounding the central nervous system, CST affects all systems in the body and allows pain and dysfunction to be addressed at the source, rather than focusing on symptom relief or a temporary fix. All you have to do is relax on a massage table in loose, comfortable clothing while I use subtle palpation and treatment techniques that support the wisdom of your body as it finds its own path to wellness. I’m certified in CranioSacral Therapy at the Diplomate (Advanced) Level by the Upledger Institute. I’m also studying Somatic Experiencing®, which gives me even more tools to help address the effects of trauma on the body in a safe, contained manner. My background studies include a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the College of William and Mary, Certificates in Clinical Massage Therapy and Neuromuscular Therapy from Red Mountain Institute, and a Certificate in Structural Integration from Kinesis. On a more personal note, I know what it feels like to suffer from a stress-related illness and then to feel less pain, more connection with my body, and more engagement with my life thanks to CranioSacral Therapy. This gentle therapy has transformed my entire being and is a part of my regular self-care routine, both for health optimization and for personal growth. It is my honor and privilege to be able to use the knowledge and experience I've gained with this life-changing therapy to help people just like you. If you'd like to know more, please like this page to stay in touch. And when you're ready, call me at 678-561-0729 to set up a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation. I look forward to speaking with you about your individual situation and needs.

The bones of the skull are supposed to move; albeit not a lot. When something that is supposed to move does so incorrectly or gets misaligned, problems ensue. Each cranial bone has its own characteristic issues associated with misalignment/restriction. The sphenoid bone is no exception. Symptoms of sphenoid misalignment/restriction include:

- Headache and migraines
- Eye pain and other visual disturbances
- Hormone balance
- Insomnia
- Psychological disturbances/personality changes,
depression
- Symptoms of impaired brain function including memory
loss, dyslexia, lack of ability to concentrate, brain fog
- Sinus related issues
- Dental issues including teeth grinding and dental
malocclusion
- Asthma
- Upper gastric conditions and transverse colon problems
- Problems of the trigeminal nerve (including Bell’s Palsy
and Trigeminal Neuralgia)
- Neck or lower back problems
- Scoliosis

Dear Friend, When I closed my practice back in March of 2020, I thought the closure would be temporary: as in, a few weeks. Ha! Looking back, it's hard to believe. I understand that some of you reading this newsletter may have moved on by now, and if that's the case for you, please feel free to cli...

Here are a few helpful exercises from Dr. Peter Levine, developer of Somatic Experiencing. They only take a few moments to do and can help increase your sense of aliveness and regulation to counteract feelings of shutdown that may be more likely these days due to Covid-19. If you try them, please share what that's like for you!

This is one of my main goals, and is also a quality I seek out in the professionals with whom I choose to engage in my own personal, vulnerable process work. What is your experience in reading these words?
