Grab your crew and head outside to see a prenumbral lunar eclipse and some possible meteor showers this evening. 💫
A full moon is coming soon!
A not just a full moon, but for some, a prenumbral lunar eclipse and maybe even a meteor shower!
Peaking on Friday afternoon, the Flower moon will appear full and bright on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Don't miss it!
For some, this full moon will dim slightly during a prenumbral lunar eclipse (Continental Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and the western Pacific Islands).
If you're lucky enough to see the prenumbral eclipse, you might also have potential for "shooting stars", as the peak of the Eta Aquarid meteor shower occurs on May 5. The light from a full moon usually makes meteor showers particularly hard to see, but the lunar eclipse, combined with possible very bright meteors, might allow some of them to be visible.
