💡 Tuesday Tip: Use 2D Barcode Scanning During the Patient Encounter

Speed up vaccine documentation and reduce errors during patient encounters by scanning the vaccine vial barcode directly in the immunization order.

Here’s how it works at the point of care:
1️⃣ Open the patient’s immunization order
2️⃣ Place your cursor in the Lot Number field
3️⃣ Scan the 2D barcode on the vial (not the box)
4️⃣ MEDENT auto-fills lot, expiration, manufacturer, NDC, and CPT
5️⃣ Review & save

Pro Tips:
- Scan at administration for accuracy
- Lots should be set up via scanning, not typing

Seventeen years, ten puppies and countless happy clients!

👋 Meet Sarah Riester, part of our Project Development team here at MEDENT!

While she spends much of her time testing and developing new features, Sarah loves connecting with clients, demoing updates and helping offices get the most out of MEDENT.

🐾 Outside of work, Sarah is a longtime volunteer puppy raiser with Guiding Eyes for the Blind. She is currently raising her 10th dog, a 6-month-old German Shepherd named Phantom! Through her work as a Region Co-Coordinator for Central NY, she helps train and support others in giving the gift of independence to the visually impaired, organizing weekly classes and socialization outings for pups in the Finger Lakes region.

And yes, she says, "it is hard to give the puppies back! But it is an honor to be a part of their journey and the life changing work that they do."
