Civic leaders and local media got their first look inside Wellstar Columbia County Medical Center during a recent hard hat tour of the facility. The hospital is 85% complete and will bring more than 1,200 jobs to the area. During the tour, Nelson So, chief operating officer of the new hospital, and other Wellstar leaders showcased features like state-of-the-art patient rooms, advanced surgical suites and an on-site pharmacy. Lung cancer screening can detect cancer earlier, improving outcomes for patients. While lung scans are always available at our imaging centers, Wellstar will offer low-dose CT scans at several imaging locations on National Lung Cancer Screening Day November 8 to help patients fit screenings into their schedules.
