After the news that a school banned a child with autism from participating in a school trip I feel the need to write this. There are boys and girls that no one invites to birthdays for example. There are kids who want to belong to a team but don't get selected because it's more important to win than include these kids. Children with special needs are not weird or strange, they just want what everyone else wants: to be accepted!! 😡Can I ask a question?? Is anyone willing to copy and paste this post on their wall without sharing, like I did for a friend? they also need full love and support. ❤️🧩❤️

We want to thank each and every person that registered. Although we would love to serve everyone. In order to keep the integrity of this event some registrations were not allowed.

As we grow and grow into larger spaces we will have more availability. This event was designed for children with autism and other special needs.

These superhero’s deserve spaces where they are SEEN, WELCOMED, and designed with them in mind! ❤️

There will be LIMITED walk up a slots available on the day of the hunt! We will have treats and opportunities to win prizes and vendors but the EGG HUNT WILL BE CLOSED!!!!

Y’all… look what happened in just a few hours. 🥹💙

When I made that post asking for help for our Sensory Easter Egg Hunt, I was honestly nervous. Asking for help isn’t something that comes easy for me. But the love that has come in already means more than I can explain.

So far we’ve already received donations from people who believe in what We Got This Augusta is doing for children with autism and other special needs in our community.

Every single $10, $20, $50 donation adds up and helps us create a safe, sensory-friendly Easter experience for families who often don’t get spaces designed for their children.

This is what community looks like.
This is what support looks like.
This is what faith in action looks like.

Our goal is $1,000, and we’re building momentum. If 100 people give just $10, we hit it.

Hi, my name is Mekhi. 💙

My mom says I’m one of the reasons she started We Got This Augusta Inc.. She wanted kids like me, and other kids with autism and special needs, to have places where we feel safe, happy, and included.

This year we’re having a Sensory-Friendly Easter Egg Hunt, and a lot of families like mine are coming.

Some kids don’t do well with loud noises.
Some kids need more space.
Some kids need things designed just for them.

That’s what this event is for.

My mom works really hard to make these events happen, but sometimes she needs a little help from the community.

So I’m asking on her behalf.

If 100 people gave just $10, we could raise $1,000 to help cover sensory activities, eggs, prizes, and supplies for all the kids coming.

Hey friends and family. I want to be honest for a moment.

As an autism mom, I know how hard it can be to find spaces where our kids are truly understood and included. That’s why I started We Got This Augusta Inc.

Today I realized I still struggle with asking for help because I never want to feel like a burden. But I’ve been reading Prayer Powered Entrepreneur, and it keeps reminding me that faith also means letting your community show up.

So I’m stepping out of my comfort zone.

We’re preparing for our Sensory-Friendly Easter Egg Hunt for children with autism and special needs, and we’re trying to raise $1,000 for eggs, sensory-friendly supplies, and activities.
