Five-card spread: $12.22 I read for family, friends, and co-workers for practice, since early on I thought my biases would prevent me from reading for myself reliably. When I was still starting out, my approach towards reading for other people involved letting them shuffle the cards as they focus on their question. I believed that this way, the cards would be infused with their energy and the reading would be truly for them. I then interpreted the cards after laying them out in a spread, without asking the querents any information - including the question they thought about. Surprisingly, even with this blind method I was able to provide readings that resonated with people (they claim to understand what the interpretations referred to), although it often didn't make any sense to me given the lack of context. My practice with Tarot cards was sporadic, only reaching for them whenever I felt like it and only offering readings to those I know. Eventually I received my first Oracle deck, which I began to frequently use in 2018 for pick-a-card posts in an old page (Stones of the Hearth). But it wasn't until 2020 that I started offering readings to strangers online to improve my practice. This remote method prompted me to actually require querents to send in their questions so I can focus on them as I shuffled the cards. As I acquired more Oracle decks and used them more often in readings, I noticed that they were easier to "read" than Tarot cards. Intuitive hits were happening more often, and I didn't feel as constrained to the interpretations as I personally felt with Tarot. Hence, Oracle cards became my preferred medium for divination, although I still occasionally use the Tarot and have recently delved into the Kipper divination system. Through Oracle cards, I learned that I am an intuitive card reader, and that my methods are more aligned towards helping people look inward for finding the answers to their concerns. ✨

Spring is here! 🌱

Nature is slowly waking up from its winter slumber: animals are coming out of hiding, and new life is emerging from the earth.

This previous winter had been severe, with blizzards and snow spreading across the US, even reaching the usually-sunny South. And it seemed like Winter refuses to release its icy grip on the country: freeze warnings and snow scattered around Central US and the East Coast just this week. This is testament to the power and unpredictability of Mother Nature.

But Nature operates in cycles - and it is now springtime. The flora and fauna that flow with the seasons serve as reminders that despite the harshness of the cold and the darkness of winter, life goes on - and persists. May this Spring be a season of Hope for us.

What is Ostara?

Ostara is the celebration of the Spring Equinox, which usually happens around March 20th. Equinoxes refer to a specific time where day and night are almost exactly the same length all over the world. “Ostara" is named after Eostre, an ancient Germanic goddess of the dawn and spring.

Historically, people used symbols like eggs and rabbits to celebrate fertility and the return of life after the cold winter. When Christianity spread, these symbols were adopted because they fit the story of the resurrection perfectly. For example, the egg came to represent the sealed tomb, and cracking it open symbolized Jesus breaking free to new life. These old customs blended together to become the modern holidays we recognize today.

During times of self-doubt, it helps to remind yourself that you're on the right path, despite feeling uncertain at the moment.

This post is my reminder.

"...you must've been looking when I ordered my dress..."

This experience from a couple of months back is an example of when I trusted my intuition and it paid off, even when my logic was speaking out against it.

Last Christmas season, I was trying to craft jewelry for my husband's aunt. The rational part of my brain immediately decided on dark-colored beads, as it would look elegant and dignified on an older woman. But as I was laying the beads out on the beading board, they somehow looked WRONG. They FELT wrong.

My eyes kept gravitating towards another piece I had previously made that had a lighter color palette: matte green and pastel pink. My brain tried to explain it away - that those colors are too "girly" and would be more appropriate for younger women.

But I was still dissatisfied with the design I drafted. Even switching up the beads (but still using a darker palette) just felt off. So I decided to just give the "spring" palette a shot. I redesigned the necklace on the beading board using a different set of beads, but following the matte green and pastel pink colors from the bracelet that called to me.

And, surprise! When the aunt received her gift in January (better late than never), she LOVED it! It was unexpectedly spot on. I am glad I defied logic that time and just rolled with my intuition. 🥰💎
