Making Kane Fit For Kids We want to work together to make Kane County the best place it can be to raise a healthy family. Why? Too many of our children are overweight.

Making Kane County Fit for Kids is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization promoting healthy eating and active living for children in Kane County through community wellness partnerships. Children born today may live shorter, less healthy lives than their parents and grandparents! Across Kane County, 1 out of 5 kids is overweight. In some Kane communities that number is an even more alarming 1 out of 3! As these children get older, they are more likely to be stricken with diabetes, bone and joint problems, heart disease, and other serious health problems. Please join our campaign for longer, healthier lives for all of our children by Making Kane County Fit for Kids! Together, we will create parks, streets, neighborhoods and schools that are Fit for Kids -- making them safe and ready for kids to walk, bike, and play. We will provide meals and snacks that are Fit for Kids by increasing access to fresh fruits and vegetables for all families through school and child care programs, farmers’ markets, community gardens, and neighborhood groceries — making healthy foods an available and desirable option. We will make our homes, faith communities, schools, recreation programs and workplaces Fit for Kids by promoting a culture of health and wellness every day, in ways both big and small.

On October 8th, 2025, schools across Kane County and the nation will join together to encourage healthy, active lifestyles for students. Schools that register will receive $150 in funding from Making Kane County Fit for Kids to help cover event expenses.

✨ Exciting news for our community! ✨

Thanks to the Making Kane County Fit for Kids Grant, we have new gym supplies that will greatly benefit our programs. These supplies are set to enhance the experiences of our School’s Out Club, SAT Live! Program, Circle of Friends, Preschool, Preschool Open Gym, and Open Gym birthday parties.

We are excited to expand our activities to enhance early childhood and youth programs, emphasizing physical activity for community benefit. This initiative offers health advantages and strengthens our community ties. Let's embrace the opportunities these new resources provide! Thank you again Making Kane Fit For Kids! 😃
