A DCC is a space to explore disability culture and build pride in disability identity. The first DCC was started by students in the early 1990s, and ours is the first in Texas! 🤠 Only recently have more campuses started opening or planning DCCs.

These awards honor students, faculty and staff who go the extra mile to create an accessible campus. Nominees receive a letter of thanks and an Accessibility Champion certificate. Disabled students, faculty and staff can make nominations.

Along with our weekly study/body doubling sessions and disability discussions, we’re hosting this month’s Disabled/Neurodivergent Employee Meet-Up for faculty and staff.

This month’s virtual conversation, “Disclosure and Descriptions: How and When Do We Talk About Disability at Work,” offers colleagues a chance to connect and navigate these workplace moments together. 👔💬

Let’s celebrate the close of the fall semester and the accomplishments of our disabled graduates and all students who completed the Critical Disability Studies portfolio or minor. 🎓🧡

Join us Tuesday, December 9, for a come-and-go reception (1:30-3:30 p.m. | SSB G1.310) welcoming graduates, guests and the entire UT community. The celebration will include food and activities. 🤘

Please RSVP by Monday, December 1, to let us know how you plan to participate in Disability Graduation and End of Semester Celebration! RSVPs will be accepted after this date however this may affect graduate participation in the slideshow and a printed certificate available on the day of the event.
