Your brain is a proof-finder.
Whatever story you repeat, it looks for evidence to match.

Instead of: “I can’t do this.”
Try: “This is hard… and I’m learning. I’m adapting.”

Not to pretend it’s easy, but to give your nervous system something supportive to hold onto. 💛

Save + share with a caregiver who is involved in the care of someone living with dementia to let them know they aren't alone in this. 💚

When someone living with dementia insists they’re fine, it’s often not denial- it’s a change in the brain called anosognosia.

They may truly believe they don’t need help.
Their brain isn’t being stubborn.
It’s protecting them from something it can no longer process. 💛

Every week I send free tips to help you navigate caregiving. Comment the word 'newsletter' below and I will send you the link.

If you’re the one managing everything and keeping everyone updated… I see you. 💛

This is one tool that helps caregivers capture appointment notes in one place and share them with family, so the updates don’t turn into long, exhausting recap calls.

This is a Tranquility topliner booster pad and it's designed to fit inside disposable underwear/briefs to add extra absorbency. It stays put with the adhesive strip, and helps increase total protection without layering products.

Caregivers hear this all the time: “You need to set boundaries.”
But when you’re caring for someone living with dementia, that advice can feel unrealistic.

So here’s a gentler approach: micro-boundaries.
Not big, dramatic changes, just small choices that protect your energy:
• a breath before you respond
• stepping into another room and saying, “I need a moment”
• letting one non-urgent task wait
• asking someone to help with one thing

A boundary doesn’t mean you’re abandoning your person.
It means you’re caring for the caregiver, so you can keep caring.

Like & Save this for later and share it with anyone supporting someone living with dementia.

Caregiving asks you to communicate in new ways.
When words don’t land, showing can help.

And please remember-you’re not failing-you’re adapting. :)

One thing no one really prepares you for after a dementia diagnosis:
you don’t just learn this once… you keep re-learning it.

Needs change. Abilities shift. Routines that worked last month stop working.
And that can feel exhausting.

So if you feel like you’re constantly adjusting… you’re not alone.

I put together the Calm Caregiver Toolkit-resources to help you feel more grounded, more prepared, and less overwhelmed as things change.

Comment CALM and I’ll send it to you. (One time fee with lifetime access.)

If evenings feel harder, you’re not imagining it.

As the day goes on, the brain can become fatigued and less able to process what’s happening around it.

Many caregivers notice this shift, and it can be exhausting.

Save this for the evenings that feel heavy, and share it so others don’t feel so alone. And as always, comment the word ‘newsletter’ below for dementia weekly tips💚

When I hear, “I want to go home,” the first thing I try to do is slow down and meet the feeling behind it.

I might say, “It sounds like you’re looking for your home. Tell me more about it.”

From there, I let curiosity guide me while I continue to listen.💚

Save this, and share it so others don’t feel so alone in it. And as always, comment the word ‘newsletter’ below for more weekly tips💚
