Bianca here, with today’s business advice! 👋🏻

When I started on my journey to build my wedding planning business, I did these 4 things to really get things going:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. interacted with other wedding vendors who I wanted to work with or who I felt matched my ideal client. I would comment on their posts, interact with their stories and tried to build a genuine relationship. After a while, they started to notice and did the same on my account. Some even sent me an email about connecting for coffee!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. I planned detail heavy styled shoots so I could have content to post. This also built brand awareness by networking with other vendors.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. I made sure to share pictures of myself so people knew the face behind the business. Couples easily recognized me at consults and vendors recognized me at networking events!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. Every year in business I have spent money on courses and business coaching sessions. Include this your yearly budget, you should always invest in your continued education.

You've probably heard of community over competition.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Well an easy place to start is on the gram building relationships with vendors.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Building relationships with vendors allows them to learn more about you and your business. Once they do, they're more likely to refer you. Not to mention you're keeping your name frequently at the top of their mind - again making it easier for them to refer you to their clients.

Here is an example of how this worked in my own wedding planning business!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I was on a consultation call and the bride let us know that she found us through her venue's instagram page. We had previously done an open house with them and they shared photos of our work and tagged us. Because she has seen our work when it came to hopping on the consultation call with us her guard was already down. We already built that LIKE, KNOW and TRUST factor with her. When you have these factors, it makes the inquiry and sales process SO MUCH easier! 👏💰

Your bio should immediately tell people what you do and who you serve. ​​​​​​​​

Let’s say a prospective bride or couple finds your page on Instagram, you want them to read your bio and immediately know that you are the person to help them.​​​​​​​​

Some examples could be…​​​​​​​​
-Wedding planner serving couples in the greater LA area.​​​​​​​​
-Wedding florist for color-loving couples.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
Both of these bio examples tell those prospective brides and couples exactly what they do and who they serve without having to scroll their feed. ​​​​​​​​

Drop your “what you do and who you serve” in the comments! Then take that saying and make sure to put it in your bio!​​​​​​​​

REMINDER: Follower count is a vanity metric.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now I'm not going to act like I don't get excited when I reach a new follower milestone. Sure, its a confidence boost. Its validation that people like your content.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But followers does not equal dollars. There are many successful people who don’t have a large “follower” count. And there are plenty of people with large follower counts that are broke 🤷🏻‍♀️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Heres my advice:
✨pay attention to how many leads are coming from Instagram versus how many new followers you gained
✨unfollow or “mute” any accounts that make you feel less than
✨tag a social media break and walk around outside when you start to feel negatively towards the app
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It's normal for engagement to be down this time of year for a few reasons.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

1. People are taking time to travel and visit family. They are spending more time out at holiday parties instead of sitting on their couch scrolling social media.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

2. A lot of businesses are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars in ad spend. So those are naturally going to be pushed first.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

3. People are spending more time online shopping for presents and holiday outfits which means less time to casually scroll on Instagram.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Last week a friend told me “girl I dont know how you do it all.”

The truth is I don't.

In fact, she told me this 2 days after I cancelled our weekly Live chat because I was feeling overwhelmed Tuesday of last week.

A little background I am a full time wedding planner serving clients and owner of a wedding planning company, I also manage The Wed Strategy, and I am a new mom to a 6 week old. Oh and we're in the middle of wedding season where I have weddings every single weekend for the next 6 weeks 😓

So last Tuesday I woke up with a massive headache after not getting the best sleep because our newborn woke up a few times throughout the night. I could feel anxiety symptoms creeping in, the heavy chest, difficulty breathing, the strong urge to just check out.

So I did. I didn't log onto my computer. I binge watched a Netflix show, went for a walk outside, did a yoga session and cancelled my meetings for the day.

Because I needed a break. I can't do it all. NO ONE can “do it all.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So let's stop feeling bad when we can't show up. I'm giving you permission to take a break if you need it and don't feel guilty about it!

1️⃣ My first response is: have you given your account enough time? Marketing, especially social media marketing takes time. The work you put in today may not show a return until 3-6 months from now.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2️⃣ It may be time for a content refresh. Ask yourself: is what I'm posting aligning with my goals? Am I mentioning my offer/services enough? Do my images speak to my ideal couple and show the type of weddings I want to work? Am I engaging with other local vendors and potential couples?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If the answer is no, its okay! Sometimes we start strong with a strategy in place and goal in mind but then life happens are we lose track. You start posting just for the sake of saying "I posted today." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So take an honest look at your account, do you need a refresh? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
