Spotlight: Lexington County Probate Court Indexes, South Carolina

Lexington County is located in central South Carolina. The Lexington County probate court has made two sets of records indexes available on its website. There are Estate Indexes for 1865 through 1994. Select a date range and click the appropriate alphabetical link to begin. The search results include a link to a digital image of the relevant index page(s). There are also two marriage records indexes. One is an alphabetical index by the groom’s surname and the other is organized by the bride’s surname. The grooms’ index covers 1911 through 1987 and the brides’ index runs from 1936 through 1987.

If you are looking for a guardianship or conservatorship these case numbers are found in the Estate indexes.  Cases from July 1, 1983 to present will have a ‘GC’ in the case number instead of ‘ES’. Although the GC case name will be under the ‘Deceased’ heading this does not mean that th...

The Barnard Library is located in the city of La Crosse, which is in central Kansas. La Crosse is the seat of Rush County. The library's website features an alphabetical index to Rush County obituaries, which appeared in the following newspapers: Walnut Valley Standard (1874-1901); Walnut Valley Standard (1893-1896); Democrat (Walnut City); Walnut City Gazette (1886-1890); McCracken Republican (1900-1902); McCracken Midget (1949-1951); Rush County Leader (1895); Bison Courier (1930-1938); and Bison Bee (1902-1918). Local Rush County Kansas Obituaries taken from microfilm available at the Barnard Library. Dates ranging from late 1800's to present. Ongoing project with the help of local volunteers.
