💚 PANS/PANDAS Awareness Day at the Texas Capitol 2025 💚

What an incredible and inspiring day we shared at the Texas State Capitol last week!

Families, healthcare providers, advocates, and legislators came together with one united purpose — to raise awareness and shine a light on the individuals and families impacted by PANS and PANDAS.

We are deeply grateful to every person who shared their story… to everyone who traveled miles with courage in their heart… to every clinician, advocate, and lawmaker who showed up to listen, to learn, and to stand with us — thank you. 💚 Your presence and support remind us that change begins when people come together with open hearts and determined voices.

Each conversation, each story shared, and each connection made helps move us one step closer to a future where children and young adults with PANS/PANDAS are understood, supported, and given the care they deserve.

In addition to attending PANS PANDAS Awareness Day at the Capitol on October 9th, it is time to reach out to your Texas state legislators and invite them to join us!

We meet at the Capitol because our goal as a community is to advocate for legislation that will ensure access to timely and effective treatment for PANS PANDAS. This happens when we partner with legislators who care.

This post is designed to provide you with the information needed to begin a relationship with your Texas House Representative and Senator through email contact, phone calls and even face to face meetings to share your family’s journey and the needs of our community as a whole.

Our strategy leading up to October 9th is to begin communication with a personal email invitation to join us at the Capitol. Second, follow the email up with a phone call to your legislators with a request to speak with the staffer who handles health matters for their office. We will have a designated block of time at the beginning of our event to visit legislators in person and invite them to attend again.

You can begin by looking up your Texas House Representative and Senator at: https://wrm.capitol.texas.gov/home (Note that you do NOT want to contact your US Congress members for this event.)
Refer to the second and third lines showing your Texas State Representative and Texas State Senator.
You can email them at:

You can also follow the links to their government web pages where you will find information on the key issues they focus on.

Follow the link below to find example templates to use when drafting a letter and when calling to speak with your Representative and Senator. Most importantly, please use them as a starting point and personalize them, focusing on the issues that are most important to you individually.
