We would like to extend a huge thank you to Dr. Max Maisel for providing our team with a 6-part training on the treatment of Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs) this summer!

Dr. Maisel has developed his expertise in treating OCD and anxiety over the past 10 years. In addition to running his private practice (Beachfront Anxiety Specialists), Dr. Maisel provides highly specialized OCD and anxiety treatment to clients in several boutique residential treatment centers across Los Angeles, working as a part of their overall treatment team. He is passionate about teaching, has provided supervision to post-doctoral fellows, enjoys giving training seminars and presentations on treating anxiety disorders, and has been interviewed for several magazines and articles for his expertise on anxiety and mental health treatment. Dr. Maisel’s research interests have been examining mindfulness-based interventions to assist adults with autism in better managing emotional distress, and he has published several studies on this topic in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Maisel truly does it all and we are super grateful he was willing to share so much time and education with us this summer! 💙

Meet Chloe Picot-Jacobs, LCSW-S! Chloe's clinical interests include attachment work and parent coaching as well as treating children and adolescents with symptoms of chronic stress and trauma, anxiety disorders (generalized, social, separation, and school avoidance), OCD, depression, ADHD, and challenging behaviors. Chloe has a special interest in early childhood development, but loves working with children and adolescents of all ages!

Chloe utilizes a number of evidence-based treatments including Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), CBT, Trauma-Focused (TF-CBT), behavioral activation, Motivational Interviewing and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).

Meet Erin Larsen-Mendoza, LCSW! Erin’s clinical interests include anxiety, OCD, depression, and trauma. She also enjoys helping clients with life transitions, relationship concerns, challenging family dynamics, emotional dysregulation, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and substance use disorders. Erin specializes in working with adults.

Erin draws upon modalities such as: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness in her work.
