They’ll be discussing building trust during high-stakes decisions successfully overcoming disagreements between clinicians and families in the NICU. Today is Amplify Austin Day!

Today I’m asking our community to do something simple but powerful.
Remember the dads.

When a baby is in the NICU, an entire family enters one of the most frightening chapters of their lives.
Doctors are caring for the baby.
Support systems rally around mom.

But dads are often expected to be the strong one.
They hold their partner together.
They keep going to work.
They try to stay positive for everyone around them.
But inside… many of them are overwhelmed, exhausted, and scared.
Some dads cry in stairwells.
Some sit silently beside incubators not knowing what to say.
Some carry everything alone because they don’t feel like they’re allowed to break.

That’s why The NICU Dad exists.

We are one of the first and only nonprofits dedicated specifically to supporting NICU dads — helping fathers find community, encouragement, and the reminder that they are not alone.

Today during Amplify Austin Day we’re raising $25,000 to expand:
• NICU Dad Support Kits
• peer mentoring for fathers
• support groups and community
• hospital outreach so dads get connected earlier

One dad recently told us something that stuck with me:
