🚨 RETENTION TIPS 🚨

‼️Save for later‼️

🔴 Isolate first. Before making/dipping your fan, you should already know exactly where it’s going.

🔴 Use a fast drying glue. If you’re isolating first and going directly to the natural lash, the glue should be WET as it makes contact with the NL and dry as you hold the fan in place for a second or two.

🔴 Know the glue’s specifications. Does it like high, low, or moderate humidity? Is it a wide-range humidity glue? Can it withstand a higher temperature or does it prefer a chilly working environment?

🔴 Having control of your working environment is key to good retention. A good heavy duty humidifier (for winter) and a good heavy duty dehumidifier (for summer) allow you to control the dry time of your glue and tailor it to your specific work speed.

🔴 If you’re using a humidifier, point the mist AWAY from your work space. You don’t want the mist to be settling on your glue and/or client’s face. If you need two, get two.

🔴 The higher the humidity the faster the glue dries. The lower the humidity the slower the glue dries.

🔴 Check each section as you work. Give them a GOOD brushing. Check the attachments. Stickies? - glue is drying too slow. (Crank up your humidifier.) Fans popping off? - glue drying too fast. (Work faster, lower your humidity, or get a slower drying glue.)

🔴 There is no magic glue that’s going to give you the best retention. The longer you work with one glue the better you become with it, you have to learn how to use it. I can tell if the weather unexpectedly changes outside by how my glue is behaving.

♥️ I hope this helps! ♥️

Thanks for the excellent question !!

It’s important to manage, not only the client’s expectations, but our own as well.

Classic lashes are rarely going to get the kind of retention we see with mega volume for two main reasons.

1) .03s are MUCH lighter and softer than .15s meaning they can withstand more wear without breaking the glue bond and without causing breakage to the natural lash.

2) a classic lash can it be “wrapped” on the NL. When the base of a mega volume fan is applied and pressed and wiggled into placebo the natural lash, the base of the fan envelopes the natural encasing it in glue and the bases of the extensions. When that is executed properly and on clean NLs, that bond is virtually unbreakable and usually lasts the duration of the life of the natural until is sheds by itself. (That’s why you want to be in the habit of only wrapping adult lashes- they’re WAY too hard to remove during a fill if they’re grown out.)

‼️Shorter classics will generally look fuller than long ones. While you’re applying, try to make them point the same way and not crisscross, this will also give the illusion of fullness. Imagine you have a handful of pencils, and you place them on your desk in a messy pile- they’re going every which way. You can see spaces between them. 💡 Now, line them up next to each other- the spaces go away. Voila!

I hope this helps!!

We've moved!

(And yes, it's WE now!)

Our new address:

13091 Pond Springs Road
Suite 208
Austin, TX 78729

If you have an appointment coming up, this is where you should go. We don't have a sign outside yet, so if you have any trouble finding the place, just text me at 830-613-9627.

It's no longer just me! Joining my team is my sister, Andrea, and our new friend, Dee. Andrea specializes in Classic lashes and will be offering Volume and Mega Volume very soon. Dee offers Classic, Volume, and Mega Volume.

We also have four other lash artists, Erin, Angelica, Jennifer, and Kelcey who will be renting our four suites on site so there will be no shortage of appointment times to fit any schedule. Kelcey is also a wax specialist!

The new space is an open concept floor plan in the main salon, meaning there could be other clients getting their lashes done as you come in. So please be respectful of everyone's relaxation time and don't be too loud. I recommend bringing headphones of some kind if you think you might be distracted during your service when another client is checking out and rebooking her next appointment.

Also please be aware that we're still decorating and putting the final touches on the new space, it's going to evolve quickly over the next few weeks.

If anyone is looking to get back on the schedule, text me and I'll get you booked with one of our fabulous new stylists for August.

Please refer your friends! Referral program: your friend gets $20 off their first service and then you get $20 off your next service!

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for making this dream a reality!

I'll see you all there!!

I need your help.

With covid numbers in Texas on the rise, I’m now urging everyone to start getting tested regularly. I have approximately 75 active clients that I work on every 2-3 weeks. That means our, yes OUR risk is quite high as I’m working on your face. Masks and hand washing and sanitizers go a long way, but the fact that I work so close to your face for and hour or more at a time is a high risk situation in itself.

If one of my clients pass it to me, I could pass it to up to 50 clients before I would ever see symptoms.
This is supposed to be shocking. I’m taking a huge risk by remaining open. I am scared to get the virus again.
PLEASE go get tested, even if you don’t have symptoms. When I was positive, I wasn’t showing symptoms. Please help protect me, your lash guy, as well as all my other clients-
GET TESTED.

(It’s no longer the painful swab up the nose. Most sites are drive thru and you do the swab yourself. Go to Walgreens.com/coronavirus and answer their questionnaire and say you have a symptom and they’ll schedule you a free rapid test.)

If I don’t start getting cooperation on this, I’m going to start requiring negative test results in order to schedule your next appointment. I’m serious about this. We have to take measures to protect each other.

Thank you for your cooperation!

You may have noticed I have a new 👀 look. Let me take a minute to address that. I am no longer a LashBoxLA brand ambassador. 😘 Since it’s my dream to have my own brand, I thought it was time to step out 🕺🏻on my own and start building my brand. There is a ton of work that goes into developing a brand of products, but I know I’m up for the task! There is no bad blood between anyone at LashBoxLA and myself. I look up to all the ladies at LBLA!! 💕 They are super talented artists and savvy businesswomen!! I am one of the luckiest 🥰 lash artists in the world to have been a LashBoxLA Brand Ambassador and I’m forever grateful!! However, developing my own brand while working to promote LBLA didn’t seem honest. So that’s why I made the difficult decision to resign.

I am still committed to bringing you tips and tricks, motivation, honest stories, and beautiful lash pics every week! My favorite thing is answering lash questions in my DMs and interacting with you! So keep tagging me in your beautiful pics and keep using my hashtags and so I can see your work!

Don’t forget, I’m offering private mega volume training at my salon.

We have some Covid-19 updates

Dear Lash Guy community,

I'm coming to you to ask for your help. As most of you know, I tested positive for Covid-19 in August, at which time I went into full quarantine for two weeks. While I didn't have the traditional symptoms of fever, sore throat, or difficulty breathing, I did experience extreme fatigue for a number of weeks.
I really don't want to go through that again, and I sincerely hope none of you have to experience Covid-19. That being said, I have been and plan to continue to get regular testing, my latest test being today with a negative result. I am asking that you do the same. If we are going to continue our lash relationship in a safe way, I believe we all need to submit to regular testing for Covid-19 so we don't spread it to each other. If a client infects me, I could potentially infect other clients and I don't want that. The salon suite is small and I work in very close proximity to your face, so let's do everything we can to ensure we don't spread this virus to each other. The person I got it from was likely completely symptom-free and I didn't have the usual symptoms. So the ONLY way we'll know for sure and be safe is for everyone to get tested.
So please, go out and get tested, there are free testing facilities you can find online. I got tested this morning and I had the results by the time I got home.

If you bring me your most recent negative test results, (within two weeks), I will give you 10% off your fill!

Quick Update

As you know, I tested positive for Covid-19 on August, 25. I've been almost completely asymptomatic. I'm going in for another test on Tuesday September 8. If the test comes back negative, and I certainly hope it does, I would like to go ahead and get back to work on Wednesday the 9th.

I know you have been without a fill for a number of weeks now and it's not your fault. That being said, I do need to know if we need to book time for a full set. If we missed the last fill and it's time for the next fill that means there is two fills worth of work to be done, and we need to book the appropriate amount of time. I really don't want to be rushed to try and create a full set in an hour and that's what happens when a client asks me to "do what I can." Rushed work is a bad look, and it's off brand. I want your lashes to look amazing and amazing takes time.

If you have appointments booked for next week and you know you need a full set or think you might, please text me and let's get you booked for a longer appointment.

And remember, if you're feeling sick, (even more tired than normal and you don't have a fever), stay home and contact your doctor. I was completely asymptomatic for the majority of the virus. The only thing I felt was a little tired and run-down.

Thank you so much for your well-wishes and thoughts and prayers!! I appreciate you!! Stay safe, wear a mask, practice social distancing, and wash your hands often!

Thank you for your continued support!

We hope you enjoyed your visit to Lash Guy! Here is some important information.

Aftercare

It is important to keep your lash extensions clean between touch-up appointments. You may be scared to touch your extensions, but I assure you, washing them will prolong the life of your new extensions. Oil (from your skin, or skincare products) and buildup from makeup can cause premature fallout.

-- Use your Bubble Lash Shampoo with your Unicorn Duo Brush to gently cleanse your lashes a couple times a week.

-- Give them a light scrub down through the lashes (never side to side), focusing on the lash line where oil and sweat build up.

-- Rinse with cool water.

-- Pat dry with your lint-free lash cloth, (available in the studio). For best results, use a cool blow dryer and your lash wand to really fluff out the lashes.

--You're all set!

Makeup

-- My ONE rule is no mascara, ever. Not on the lash extensions. It's too much of a mess to try and work through, and my adhesive will not stick to your natural lashes if they have mascara residue on them.

-- You can apply mascara to your bottom lashes, just be aware that it will transfer to your top lashes at some point. Be sure to get a good lash cleansing in before going to sleep, it only takes a couple minutes.

-- Avoid products that contain oils as they transfer to the lash extensions.

-- Try to avoid getting skincare products in your extensions.

-- If you get makeup or skincare products in your lashes and need a quick cleanse without having to fully shampoo your lashes, use a spritz of Fluff Guard (available in the studio) on a clean dry mascara wand and simply brush it through. It's like a dry shampoo for your lashes! (Not intended to replace your lash shampoo.)

Referral Policy

I have an unlimited referral policy! If you love your lashes, please tell your friends and family about me!

-- You get $20 credited to your next service or product of your choice for every client you refer to me.

-- Your friend or family member will also get $20 off their first service!

-- You can refer as many people as you want!

My business was build almost exclusively through word of mouth referrals. I appreciate each and every one of my valued clients and I strive to provide excellent service and the best lash extensions in Austin!

General Policies

-- Please let me know if you need to reschedule. I understand life happens and I am very flexible with scheduling.

-- If you make a habit of no-showing me I will terminate our lash relationship. (This doesn't really ever happen as my clients love their lashes and we respect each other's time. But it has to be said regardless.)

-- For your convenience, I've opened up online booking. You may book out up to 60 days in advance.

-- Sometimes I will rearrange the schedule for a number of reasons. Filling gaps in my day is usually the reason. If I do this, I'll send you a text asking your approval.

-- Please show up on time. Again, life happens, I understand, but we do live in Austin, Tx, there is always traffic. I'll still take you up to 10 minutes into your appointment time. I will not extend your appointment time, you just have a shorter appointment time. It's only fair. If you know you're going to be late and wish to reschedule so you can get your full appointment time, please text me and I will accommodate.

-- Please silence your ringer and check for any alarms that may be set.

-- Please refrain from talking during the service. We can catch up before and after, but during, I need to concentrate on lashing.

-- Please use the facilities before we get started. Taking a break during the service, while possible, costs you valuable lash time.

COVID-19

-- Please text me upon your arrival and I will text you to let you know when I'm ready for you to come in. We are not allowing clients to wait inside the building. If you arrive early, please be prepared to wait in your vehicle.

-- A mask/face covering is required at all times inside the building.

-- Only one person per service provider is allowed inside the building, so please don't bring your friends or your children.

-- If you have experienced any symptoms whatsoever, please stay home. You're not going to get charged a cancellation fee for being sick. Please go see a doctor.

-- I am no longer providing pillows and blankets as they cannot be sanitized between clients, please bring your own. Lying flat for extended periods can become uncomfortable, I suggest a large pillow under the knees!

-- Between clients, I am sanitizing the room, the bed, every bottle I use, all of the tweezers used, the lamp, the door, my phone, everything in the room is getting wiped down and I'm allowing plenty of time between clients to let the room air out.

Thank you!

Thank you for choosing to support my small business! Without you, I would not be where I am today! I appreciate you! Please remember to tag me on Instagram and tell your friends about me!

Referral Program

Here's a quick reminder about how my referral program works.

• When you, my existing client, refers a friend or family member and they come in and get their first set of lashes from me, you get $20 off your next service, or lash product!

• Your friend or family member also gets $20 added to their account that they can choose to use on their first appointment, save it for a later date, OR get $20 off a lash product!

Referrals are how I grow my business, and as you know, small businesses all over the world took a tremendous hit over the last couple months. It would help me a great deal if you could tell your friends and family about me!

Thank you all, so much for helping to support my small business. I wouldn't be where I am today without you!

I look forward to seeing you all very soon! Stay safe!
