As a professional organization, the TSRC is only as strong as its membership. When we deal with outside groups, they need to know that the Respiratory Care professionals in Texas stand united. If you are already a member of the TSRC, remember to renew to continue your membership, and recruit a new member. Our Social media outlets are designed to be a hub of information for our members and other RT's wanting to stay up-to-date on continuing education events, legislative advocacy initiatives, important articles dealing with the cardio-respiratory systems and doses of respiratory humor. We encourage you to be active and join in discussions.

Even the best respiratory therapists have moments when the shift feels overwhelming.

Multiple vents, STAT pages, treatments waiting, alarms going off… and somehow you’re expected to stay calm through it all.

When things start stacking up and the shift gets heavy, what’s your reset?

Do you pause and take a breath, prioritize the next patient, check in with your team, grab a quick coffee, or just push through one task at a time?

Respiratory therapists are masters of helping others breathe. Sometimes we have to remind ourselves to do the same.

What do you do when the shift gets overwhelming?

Respiratory care isn’t just a profession, it’s a community.

Tag someone you met along the way who made the journey better. Maybe it’s another RT who had your back during a crazy shift, a nurse or doctor who became a true teammate, or someone special who supported you through the long nights and early mornings.

Who’s someone you’re grateful for in your respiratory care journey? Tag them below.

A new look for a new chapter.

The Texas Society for Respiratory Care is evolving, and today we’re excited to introduce part of that change… our new logo. This rebrand reflects a broader effort to modernize TSRC, including a refreshed visual identity, an updated website, and a renewed focus on serving respiratory therapists across Texas.

Our mission remains the same: to support, advocate for, and elevate the respiratory care profession. This new look simply represents the next step forward.

Welcome to the next era of TSRC.

How long have you been practicing as a respiratory therapist?

Every RT has a different journey. Some are just starting their first year, others have decades of experience managing vents, teaching patients, and saving breaths one shift at a time.

So tell us… how long have you been in respiratory care?

Respiratory therapists run on two time zones: sunrise rounds or 3 AM ventilator checks.

Early Bird or Night Owl… which shift built you?

Day shift: coffee, rounds, extubations, and a full unit moving at once.
Night shift: fewer people around, critical moments, and the 2 AM alarms that remind you why RTs never really sleep.

Which one are you?

TSRC is looking ahead, and the Advanced Practice Respiratory Therapist (APRT) role is a big part of that future. This emerging pathway can expand access to specialty cardiopulmonary care across Texas, and we’re proud to help lead the conversation as we elevate respiratory care and strengthen outcomes for Texans.

We’re actively gathering insight and building connections as we explore APRT in Texas. If you have relationships with lawmakers or health care leaders who want to understand the value of advanced respiratory practice, we’d love to connect. Together, we can shape the future of cardiopulmonary care. Info@TSRC.org
