The official photos are out from Houston Hyrox 2026 and I am so pumped! There were a lot of smiles! It was my fastest race to date! This being my 3rd race I’ve taken pieces I’ve learned in each race getting faster every time I go out on the course!!

Now to recover and regroup and prep for fall races! I cannot wait to see what a full year of racing and training does for my strength and speed!

I just love Hyrox! This sport is everything! Difficult but doable, long- but not too long, you can improve race after race. It provides the opportunity to question your choices, then gives a nice “pat on the back” with Gumby legs and burpee broad jumps. I cannot wait to do it again in Houston!

For now, back to the gym to work through improving on the next race!

This is 44!

Each year I try to do some physically demanding endeavor to prove to myself that “I’ve still got it!”

This year: HYROX! A strength endurance race that meets all of the requirements: I must train for it, I can get better at it, and it’s electric!

Well, I’ve still got it 😉

Sometimes it’s the finish line that gets you. You see the end, but you still have a challenge in front of you. How do you manage? Leave it, endure, coast, work harder, keep your eye on the prize and push?

One thing I know about myself, quitting is never an option. Breaks are rarely allowed. But finishing- this is where I thrive. You can be fast or slow, strong or “weak”, just finish.

HYROX!

Yesterday I competed in my first Hyrox here in Dallas, and it was ELECTRIC!

I wanted a new sport- something exciting, something I had to train for, something challenging, something I could continue to get better, faster, stronger at, and something I can do for years to come.

I have done bodybuilding, running events, and triathlons over the last 15 years and I have discovered a few things about myself: 1. I love the prep of any event 2. I do not like to be hungry/hangry 3. I prefer to compete in something that is undeniable (my time is my time) 4. I like anything I can do in under 2.5 hours (with 3 boys I don’t have time for 3-4 hour workouts)

Hyrox is a high intensity strength and conditioning event and hit every mark! What does the race consist of?
