🌿 Staying Independent & Safe at Home Doesn’t Have to Be Expensive
Sometimes the most effective way to reduce hospital visits, complications, and readmissions is through simple, consistent lifestyle changes.
Your body speaks to you every day — learn to listen.
If something feels different or “not right,” don’t hesitate to tell your doctor.
Early communication prevents bigger problems later.
Here are small daily habits that make a BIG difference:
🍽️ 1. Eat a Balanced Diet
Include carbs, protein, fiber, and healthy fats at each meal.
Stay hydrated with plenty of water — unless your doctor has instructed you to limit fluids (such as in Congestive Heart Failure).
❤️ 2. Monitor Your Health
Check your vital signs and blood sugar once a day.
Write them down — especially if you’re taking medications for the heart, kidneys, or blood pressure.
Tracking helps you and your doctor notice patterns early.
💤 3. Rest Well & Move Daily
Get enough sleep each night.
Stay active — even a 20–30 minute walk daily can improve strength, balance, and mood.
