We’re incredibly grateful for the people behind CARES, and we want you to get to know the hearts leading this community.

Over the next several weeks, we’ll be introducing the individuals who help make CARES what it is, walking alongside families navigating addiction.

Today, we begin where CARES began.

Russ Norwood and Waylan Johnson are the founders behind CARES. What started as a shared vision has grown into a place where families can find support, understanding, and real conversations around addiction and recovery.

They built CARES on the belief that no one should have to walk through this alone.

When compassion replaces judgment, families begin to heal.
That belief is at the core of everything CARES stands for.

We’re honored to have them leading the way, and we look forward to introducing more of the team in the weeks ahead.

Join us every Monday night at 6:30PM.

Healing begins when we start asking better questions about addiction.

Environment, pain, and life experiences can all influence substance use. Understanding those connections helps families respond with compassion and clarity.

When you love someone struggling with addiction, you often carry the weight silently. The fear. The responsibility. The constant second-guessing.

But here’s the truth: you are not responsible for fixing their addiction. You are responsible for caring for your own well-being.

Families need recovery support too. Through addiction education, practical boundary-setting tools, and compassionate community, healing becomes possible for everyone involved.

If you’re looking for support for families affected by addiction, this space was created for you.

Loving someone through addiction is exhausting.
You can care deeply and still feel overwhelmed, frustrated, and unsure what to do next.

Addiction impacts the entire family system, not just the person struggling. That means family members, spouses, parents, and caregivers need support, education, and practical recovery tools too.

If you’re searching for addiction support for families, help for caregivers of addicts, or guidance on setting healthy boundaries, you are not alone.

You are allowed to love them.
You are allowed to protect yourself.
You are allowed to get support.
