Spring is finally here! 🌷

The world feels heavy and loud right now. Between global events and the daily grind, it’s easy to feel like we’ve lost our grip on things. That feeling of being out of control often starts to seep into our own four walls.

When everything outside feels chaotic, your home should be your sanctuary, not another source of stress. Organizing isn’t just about pretty baskets or clear bins. It’s about reclaiming your sense of control and creating a space where you can actually breathe.

And here’s the thing - your house doesn’t have to look like a museum or a Pinterest board to be a success. Life is messy, and your systems should respect that. You don’t need ā€œperfect.ā€ You just need a game plan that actually works for you and the way you live.

Start small! šŸ“€ Is it time to let go of the CD collection that you haven’t listened to since you created your Napster account or started downloading music from iTunes in 2001? I give you permission to let them go. šŸš—

Need more hands on help or support? I work side-by-side with my clients to turn that ā€œMarch Madnessā€ in their homes into a manageable strategy.

It’s never about the 3.5 minutes. It’s about the 4 months of that task living rent-free in your head. šŸ§ šŸ’ø

I’ve been there. For more months than I care to admit, I futzed with a closet door that kept popping off its track. Every time I used it, I felt that spike of frustration. Finally, one day, I stopped ā€œdealing with itā€ and did a 30-second YouTube search. The fix? It took less than 3 minutes.

Months of annoyance solved in the time it takes to brew a cup of coffee.

We often put things off because they *feel* like a mountain, but usually, it’s just a small step we haven’t taken yet. You ARE capable of doing the hard things, sometimes you just need to stop ā€œfutzingā€ and start doing.

Take this as your sign: pick one ā€œ3-minuteā€ task you’ve been avoiding and just knock it out. Make that phone call, send that email. You’ll be amazed at how much lighter your brain feels once it’s off your list.

And hey, if the ā€œfirst stepā€ feels too heavy to take alone, that’s where I come in. Whether it’s a broken system or a cluttered room, we can build a game plan to get it done. Send me a message and we can setup at time to chat.

You can do hard things. But you don’t have to do them alone.

Case in point. This 175lb hex bar deadlift. šŸ‹ļøā€ā™€ļø I think it’s a rep max for me (I may try heavier next week and try to have a better facial expression 🤣), and it was a heavy lift in every sense of the word.

But look behind the scenes:

One friend loaded the plates with me. Another was cheering me on from the sidelines. A coach was there to film the proof and check my form.

Could I have stepped up to that bar solo? Maybe. But having a team made the "impossible" feel like just another Saturday.

Organizing your home or business is exactly the same kind of heavy lift.

Decluttering a space that’s been overwhelming you for years is hard. Building productivity systems from scratch is hard. But "hard" doesn't mean "solo."

At Game Plan Organizing, I’m your teammate. I’m the one loading the weights, checking the strategy, and guiding you side-by-side until the clutter is gone and the systems stick.

You’ve got the strength. I’ve got the game plan. Let’s do the hard things together. šŸ¤

If you are motivated by my lift (& fancy hair do), drop me some encouragement below. If you are ready to do the hard work and need a partner and coach to start your path of organization, comment LIFT below.

I was working with a client this week whose dining room was completely filled with delivery boxes. It was overwhelming! Seriously, it looked like a cardboard fort had taken over. šŸ“¦

Just by spending time breaking those boxes down and moving them to the recycling area, she felt a total level of satisfaction and reclaimed her space.

It’s not just about the mess - it’s about the mental weight of that ā€œvisual noise.ā€

Here is my 3-step ā€œIn and Outā€ daily routine to keep your space functional:

1. Open & Empty: Make it a daily habit to open what arrived. No kicking it off to ā€œI’ll do it laterā€. šŸˆ

2. Break Down: Flatten the cardboard immediately. Not only does this makes moving itt out easier and take up less space. This is the winning play for your brain.

3. Move to Recycling: Get them out of the house and into the bin. Finish the drill.

šŸ’„STARTING A NEW ROUTINE STARTS WITH DAY 1. šŸ—“ļø START TODAY!šŸ’„

March doesn't have to be a bracket-busting disaster for your productivity. šŸ€

We all feel the madness sometimes. The mail is piling up, the phone won't stop buzzing, and you can’t find your keys. It’s not a failure. It’s just life. But you don't need a massive overhaul to get back in the game. You just need a better game plan.

Here are 5 things you can control right now to lower the tension:

1. Your Inbox: Delete 10 old emails. Just 10. Bench them for good.

2. Your Nightstand: Clear off the clutter so you can breathe easier tonight. A restful space starts with the small things. šŸ’¤

3. Your Schedule: Block 15 - 30 minutes for YOU. It’s a timeout you’ve earned.

4. Your Phone: Silence those non-essential alerts. Stop letting the pings keep interrupting your focus.

5. Your Entryway: Corral the shoes and bags. Win the game before you even step fully inside.

You’ve got this. Done is better than perfect, and a small win is still a win.

Which one will you check off first? Let me know in the comments!

SAVE this post for later. Share with a friend (or family member šŸ˜‰). And follow for more realistic organizing strategies.

The scouting report on 5-year-old me was pretty clear: she’s here to organize the chaos. šŸ“‹šŸ€ For those who are new here - šŸ‘‹I am Kim Oser, a Certified Professional Organizer, owner of Game Plan Organizing, and yup, that’s me at 5 years old working on sorting items. Thanks - I know you are loving my bowl cut.

Whether it was wooden blocks in kindergarten or your overflowing home office today, my mission hasn’t changed. For over 22 years, I’ve been matching like items, getting rid of clutter, and creating game plans that actually work for real life.

As a native Washingtonian and a Professional Organizer for 22+ years, I’ve seen it all. My goal is not to create a museum exhibit you’re afraid to touch. I’m here to build a home or office that actually functions. I trade ā€œPinterest-perfectā€ for ā€œProductive.ā€ My mission is simple: replace your overwhelm with customized systems that actually work for your brain. 🧠✨

I work with clients to create functional spaces that let you breathe. I’m a straight-shooter who leads with authenticity. You don’t need to fit into a cookie-cutter mold. You need a strategy that fits your brain, your family, your lifestyle, and your business.

When I’m not drawing up X’s and O’s for my clients, you’ll find me exploring the DC area with my miniature schnauzer, Oshie (named after the hockey player). And yeah, he’s single and looking... just like his mama. šŸ¶šŸ˜‰

I am a female small business owner, and one of my missions is to help other female small business owners playing the same game. March is International Women’s Month, so I am celebrating all of the other women business owners in my community.

Throughout the week, I share tips and tricks to get and stay organized. I’m here to help you find your things, save your time, and reclaim your sanity. Let’s get real and get organized.

In the Mid-Atlantic or Northeast?

Want a stress-free snow day tomorrow?

Let’s talk pre-game today. ā„ļø We’ve got up to 5 inches of snow heading our way, and I’m all about a strategy that lets you actually enjoy the view instead of scrambling for a shovel.

Here is your game plan for this afternoon:

1. Stage the 'Mudroom' Hub. Get boots, coats, and towels by the door now. Hunting for a rogue glove in the freezing cold? That’s a losing play. 🧄
2. Prep the Meal Plan. Use the slow cooker or prep snacks today. You want to spend tomorrow relaxing, not hovering over a stove. šŸ²
3. The Tech Charge. Power up laptops and portable chargers. If the lights flicker, you are still in the game. šŸ”‹
4. Clear the Path. Get salt and shovels ready. It is much easier to prep a dry walk than a frozen one. ā„ļø
5. The Email Blitz. Knock out those three nagging emails this afternoon. Clear the mental clutter so you can truly unplug. šŸ“§

A little strategy today means a lot of peace tomorrow. Seriously.

What is your must-have snow day snack? šŸ«

We are halfway through February and that ā€œnew yearā€ energy is probably fading. That’s okay. Yeah, life happens.

But here is the truth - Clutter isn’t just a mess on your desk. It’s a drain on your brain. I’m not talking about a total home makeover. I’m talking about a quick strategy session to clear the deck.

Here is your mid-February Game Plan.

12 things you can toss right now:

1. Expired coupons or flyers.
2. Old receipts you don’t need for taxes.
3. Manuals for electronics you don’t own.
4. Tangled, broken chargers.
5. Dried-up pens and markers.
6. Mystery keys that open nothing.
7. Magazines you’ve already read or will never read.
8. Notes you can’t decipher.
9. Piles of extra rubber bands.
10. Dead batteries.
11. Socks with holes. Seriously, let them go.
12. Old takeout menus

Done is better than perfect. You don’t live in a museum - you just need a space that works.

Which one is the hardest for you to let go? Let’s talk in the comments.

Organizing solo can feel like a chore, but doing it with your bestie? That is a total game-changer.

Yeah, it is Galentine’s Day. It may be a ā€œmade-upā€ holiday, but the power of body doubling is very real. Ever noticed how you can actually finish the drill when someone is just... there? No judgment. No pressure. Just a friend or a stranger at a coffee shop, and a shared strategy to tackle that one task or closet you have been avoiding for months.

In my playbook, ā€œorganizedā€ does not mean ā€œperfect.ā€ It means functional.

Sometimes the best way to find your X’s and O’s is to bring in a teammate. You do not need a museum exhibit. You need a system that works for your brain. Having a friend keep you company while you sort through the chaos cuts the tension and helps you stay on task.

I see you, feeling overwhelmed by the pile. Trust me, it’s easier when you aren’t playing a solo game. Grab your favorite person, put on a playlist, and just start. You do not have to do this alone.

Tag a Galentine you would love to have as your organizing buddy!
