Let’s talk about body shaming. Body shaming happens to not only big people but also to skinny people. I know because I have experienced it myself. Growing up I was always “skinny” and even into my adulthood. As a teenager I developed an eating disorder, because people always commented on how skinny I was so I thought that must be a good thing and I wanted to stay that way. It took a toll on my body and mind. 95% of those suffering from am eating disorder are between the ages of 12 and 25. Now days with all of the social media it is no wonder that that number is so high. Remember your words have power. No matter a persons size telling them “you should eat a hamburger, you are too skinny” or “do you think you should be eating that, skipping one meal won’t hurt” are all forms of body shaming. Let’s put a stop to body shaming.
