This new paper breaks down what we do and still don’t know about how young children with autism navigate emotions, and how parents support them along the way.

It introduces a fresh framework showing how autism-specific challenges can affect parent-child emotional interactions, sometimes making it harder to build coping strategies together.

This perspective could shape future research and improve clinical support for families

Interoception is one of the lesser-known senses but is super important as it gives crucial feedback to our brains regarding how we're feeling internally.

Interesting study to read 🤓📖

This new study compared sensory processing patterns in adults with clinically significant misophonia (n = 60) to age- and gender-matched controls without measurable misophonia traits (n = 60). The findings offer preliminary evidence that sensory over-responsivity (SOR) may be a central characteristic of misophonia, with 80% of individuals in the misophonia group reporting heightened sensitivity in at least one non-auditory sensory domain. Sensitivities related to touch and smell were the most frequently reported.

Free WHAT A CHILD NEEDS BEFORE THEIR BEHAVIOUR CAN CHANGE - POSTER

Children do not change their behaviour just because they are told to behave better. They change when they feel safe, understood and supported.

This poster gently explains what children need before behaviour can change. It focuses on safety, connection, felt understanding, predictable routines, realistic expectations and adult support with emotional regulation. It is a helpful reminder that children cannot calm down on command and that behaviour often improves when adults change the environment around the child.
