🐾✂️ 64 CATS FIXED TODAY — COMMUNITY CAT DAY SUCCESS! ✂️🐾

Today was a BIG day for community cats in Santa Rosa County!

Dr. Mackinze and her incredible team successfully completed 64 spay and neuter surgeries at Santa Rosa County Animal Services during Community Cat Day!

✨ 38 spays
✨ 26 neuters
✨ 64 lives changed

This is what community collaboration looks like. 💪

Every single cat altered today represents:
✔️ Fewer unwanted litters
✔️ Fewer kittens born outside to struggle
✔️ Stabilized and reduced community cat colonies
✔️ A healthier, more manageable population

Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) WORKS — and today proved it. When rescues, animal services, veterinarians, and dedicated community members come together, we make a measurable difference.

Preventing litters before they happen is the most humane and effective way to protect our community cats and reduce shelter intake.

Find us at 4451 Pine Forest Rd. in Milton.

Do not trap cats more than 24 hours before drop off - this causes great stress on the cat and may affect whether we are able to spay/neuter.

Only 3 cats per resident - first come, first served. Must bring proof of Santa Rosa County residency.

This free spay/neuter includes a rabies shot & ear tip at no cost.

Cats MUST be in a cat trap and only one cat per trap. Cats brought in carriers or traps designed for other animals will not be accepted. This is for the safety of the cat and our staff. Please make sure cat trap is covered with a towel, blanket or sheet to reduce stress.

For specific questions, please give us a call. This page is not monitored 24/7 and we may miss your question. 850-983-4680.

Important dates to remember:
- Monday, Feb. 9 - Traps are available at our shelter starting at 11:30 a.m. for a $65 deposit, cash or check only
- Thursday, Feb. 12 - Drop off community cats at our shelter by 8 a.m.
- Friday, Feb. 13 - Pickup your community cat(s) from our shelter between 9-10 a.m.
- Saturday, Feb. 14 - If you rented a trap from us, please return between 11:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Your deposit will be returned.
