It’s so hard to hit the pause button in the world that demands that we keep going faster and faster and faster. But with a little pausing, we can often see that by going faster and faster, we are not bringing joy to ourselves, and we’re not bringing joy to those that we really care about. And I get it, I have people in my life who love going over the top decorating and wrapping and giving, and so they should keep doing that. But for those of us who just feel the obligation of the season, just stop and know that you’re worthy whether your lights are all working or the cards get out on time or the presents get wrapped. Half the time the kids stopped leaving in Santa Claus way before the parents even realize it and they’re still working extra to keep the magic alive. Ask, who is the magic really for? And if you slow down, don’t you think everyone who loves you will appreciate you a little more with you being a little less stressed?

Therapist friends: I’m opening another round of my five week intro to Parts Work/Ifs course, and honestly, I’m more excited than usual about it I just came off serving as a program assistant at an Ifs training, and being immersed in this work reminded me why I love it so much, the spaciousness, the compassion, the way Parts softened when truly seen. After recently being on staff for an IFS training, I’m feeling more inspired to host a 5-week Parts Work class for therapists who want to learn the model and use it right away. Join me on-line beginning January 14th!

In this course you will learn the basic principles of Parts Work, understand the concepts, and be ready to use these principles with clients to create more healing.

Just a little reminder for you. Whoever you are. Chances are if you don’t get everything on your list done no one‘s going to die. People will still love you just as much. And don’t get me wrong, for some folks, they love everything being in its place, Everything tied up with a meat bow. That’s cool! But if you find yourself getting resentful or frustrated, PAUSE! Nobody wants that around. Haven’t you had people in your life who gets so angry and resentful about all they’re doing when no one ever ask them to do all the things? Pausing before exhausting ourselves is the healthiest thing we can do, not only for ourselves, but for those we love. The better emotional shape we are in, the better the holidays will be for everyone. 🩷🎁🌲

There was a time in my life where I thought I may have had bipolar. Because sometimes I was so energetic, and I could go, go, go. I would be uber creative, and then one day I’d wake up and it would be gone. I’d be a little sluggish and not called to create or perform for anyone. But there was absolutely nothing wrong with me. These were just my cycles. We all have cycles. And we don’t judge nature for her cycles, nor do we judge the moon for its cycles. How can you be gentle with yourself and trust that you too, and everyone you know, has cycles. Lean in. Peace.
