Your shoulders often cause neck pain. The muscle in green is the trapezius. It connects to your mid back, your shoulder blade, collar bone, neck, and skull. If you tweak your back or shoulder, then pain can actually manifest itself in your neck because of this muscle. People say, “Oh I think I slept on my neck wrong.” Nope! Chances are you messed up your shoulder a day or two before and while you were sleeping the whole muscle tensed up. Click on the website in the bio to read a slightly more in-depth synopsis of how our shoulders cause neck pain (it’s only a 2 minute read).

Before and After. My grandmother informed me that her arthritis was keeping her thumb pinched up against her palm. Leaving her unable to effectively use her left hand. Turns out the real issue was overly contracted forearm muscles and poor circulation in the upper arm. I worked on her shoulders first, upper arms, forearms, and then finally spent about 5 minutes actually working on her thumb. You can see the difference after just one session. I worked on her a month ago, she texted me two days ago to tell me her thumb and left hand are still working normally. Goes to show the root of the problem isn’t always where we think it is.

Love you, Grandma!
