Getting ready to start my 3rd semester (!) as an Adjunct Professor đŸ€Ż and revisiting my resources list, and I want to include you!

What are your favorite writings or other media that explore multiculralism and interculturism? Particularly ones related to clinical therapeutic practice.

As always, the socially marginalized and nonconforming to the front!

So excited to be co-presenting Reflection, Sorrow, and Celebration this coming Friday June 9th with dear one Ra Malika Imhotep as we study Black Feminist texts on grief and practice laughter, crying, and silence together. There’s so many phenomenal workshops happening I’m also already having fomo that I won’t make them all!! You can still register to participate in the virtual conference and join us in getting free!

An AirFrance left my luggage in Amsterdam and I have nothing but the clothes on my back but hey I’m in France and resourced enough to get what I need (and also I was in the mood to have an Amelie moment in a photomaton) mood board. #

One of my favoritest things about Berlin is that they give you blankets!!! And ya’ll know I’m about that blanket life as much as I’m about food đŸ„čWith all the outdoor dining, restaurants just keep a stack of blankets on hand for your comfort. I swoon đŸ˜đŸ„°.

Just a quick video encouraging you to check out the End of Isolation tour, the traveling production the play The Box, written by journalist Sarah Shourd. This important piece of artivism explores the impacts of solitary confinement by sharing the stories and journeys of 4 people being imprisoned within our “justice” system and offers an opportunity for each of us to examine what it means to live in a society that considers millions of its citizens disposable. Stay connected with what’s happening by following and joining the conversation.

Beautiful day spent in the village yesterday. Ran into folks from so many different timelines within my life, got to do some dancing in the streets, picked up yet another Oakland hoodie, saw black folks on horses (I love me some black folks on horses!), and shared space in the deep mystery of being. And it was a good look day 😁 I’ve never been someone who needs to be out just to be out but I Looove being out when the party is in the streets, when the party is my community, when my people and all our melanin is poppin. There’s just something about us that is undeniably fly. Portrait by

Got a wicked and wonderful surprise opening up this month’s issue of Harper’s to find that my Letter to the Editor had been published!! There’s much more that didn’t make it and that I think I’ll share on my website but I think they caught the gist of it. The one major correction I’d make is I was very clear about INDUSTRIALIZED HUMANS being the aggressors and that industrialized humans are the result of a specifically European cultural consciousness that has been waging war on nature for centuries now. Disappointed but not surprised that didn’t make the cut. Otherwise feels good to have my opinions out there. Many thanks to the friend who encouraged me to send it in cuz honestly I had written it out but probably wouldn’t have because my default is to feel that no one will listen. But as they said, “You’ve already done the work, so...”.

The gram loves faces, so here’s mine, in bed with cramps, telling you to share the news about Mindfulness as Ether-Real Download. Have you ever heard musicians talk about “catching” song? Well that’s the way meditation often feels for me, like I’m just catching wisdom, insight, and/or vision. I’ll be sharing some tools from my toolkit and together we’ll be practicing opening ourselves to receiving from that which holds it all. Registration link is in the bio! Oh, and a picture of my now mostly empty bottle of castor oil because A friend of mine didn’t believe I really use it đŸ€Ł You may have noticed but this is not one of Those IG pages, it’s all real over here and my old person self-care game is tight!!đŸ§“đŸŸ
