Justine Yu, MS 3 student was awarded the 1st place prize winner of this year's doctoral Dean's Research Award at the A. Clark School of Engineering/Fischell Department of Bioengineering at the University of Maryland College Park campus.

Justine became the first MD-PhD student to earn her PhD in Bioengineering at the University of Maryland College Park. The title of her dissertation project: “A nanocomposite hydrogel for
SDF-1α delivery and modulation of phenotype for skin tissue regeneration."

This is an outstanding achievement!

On April 26, 2021, she received a MSc in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Kieran spent 1 year in London pursuing her MSc from September 2019 to September 2020. Her thesis title: “Classification of global patterns in Plasmodium vivax chloroquine resistance: a genetic epidemiology analysis”
