I can't believe my little girl is an official teenager!
She has grown SO much this year both physically, emotionally and spiritually. I'm so excited to see what God has in store for her life. She is SO loved.

Today we wrap up World Breastfeeding Week with a spotlight on all of the amazing photos I've been able to capture of my best friend nursing her babies throughout the years. I was fortunate enough to attend one of her births and witness her daughters first latch.

I am already looking forward to next years If you know of anyone who will be breastfeeding next July please send them my way!

Breastfeeding has been such a personal and emotional journey for me—different with each of my babies. I breastfed my son Lincoln, and I was able to breastfeed for 6 months before we transitioned to formula. I breastfed my daughter Eleanor for 14 months, and it was one of the most beautiful bonds we shared. I ended our journey earlier than I wanted to because of nursing school, and that decision was incredibly hard. Each experience taught me so much about sacrifice, strength, and grace.

I love being a part of something that helps other moms feel seen and supported.

I absolutely love breast-feeding my baby. I did this with my first for almost 22 months. My goal is to reach a year. I love how close it brings you and your baby. I know she’s well nourished. It also helps me nourish myself more, making sure I’m drinking my water and making better food choices. I love how it benefits, not just her but me. I like that I don’t have to wash bottles all the time: icky icky. This breast-feeding journey is my last so I cherish this moment with her so much, I also love how my daughter will tell me that Sissy needs to drink mommy‘s milk. So yes, breast-feeding has its challenges, especially when babies are teething but at the end of the day, I wouldn’t have it any other way. -Kayla
