Such a proud moment. ā¤ļø

The mental burden of T1D is hard to describe. For adults it can feel soul-sucking…but for a child? A child right on the eve of the teen years?

I worried endlessly.
About his physical health.
About his mental health.
About the ways this disease might hold him back in life.

So when his freshman year rolled around and he randomly announced he wanted to play basketball, we were both thrilled…and hesitant. He had zero experience. Freshman year, his best friend literally had to show him how to pivot during halftime. šŸ˜‚

And the worries never stopped running through my mind.
Would he go low on the court?
Did he have enough insulin in his pump for his away game?
Mid-game site changes (he hated this).
Was his pump charged? Did I remember his charger?
Did his CGM fail?
Did I double-check that he had glucose tabs?
Would high blood sugar affect his ability to think clearly?

Fast forward to his senior year, and the growth we’ve watched, both as a player and as a human, has been incredible.

But what makes us most proud isn’t just the basketball. It’s who he is. His spirit. His character. His sense of humor that lights up every room he walks into.

To see him recognized not just for what he has overcome, but for who he is…that’s everything.

You are so deserving of the Maine McDonald’s All Stars Spirit of the Game Award - you have never let diabetes crush your spirit and we couldn’t be more proud of your growth, but most of all who you are as a person. šŸ’™

šŸ’„ Boom, baby! šŸ’„

For years, I thought creatine was just for bodybuilders or fitness competitors. I didn’t realize it could be a game-changer for everyday wellness, especially for women in midlife.

When I started incorporating creatine into my morning routine a couple years ago, I noticed a HUGE difference in my energy, recovery, and body composition.

But you don’t have to lift weights to benefit.šŸ‘‡

As someone who used a different brand for a couple years, I am so pumped to be able to switch to my FAVORITE brand PLUS get the benefits of a potent amino acid (L-leucine) and extra Vitamin D3 — something we all need this time of year.

Instead of focusing on muscle support alone, Creatine+ blends three scientifically backed ingredients that work together to fuel both body and mind — helping you stay strong, clear-headed, and energized through workouts, workdays, and everything in between.*

Here’s what Creatine+ can do before you even see muscle growth:
• Boost energy & cellular power — creatine helps your cells regenerate ATP, giving you more energy for movement and recovery
• Support lean muscle maintenance — helps slow age-related muscle loss when paired with activity
• May support focus, mental clarity, and cognitive performance — powered by creatine and L-leucine
• Support bone health — Vitamin D3 helps maintain strong bones and overall wellness
• Support metabolism & overall wellness — when combined with strength training, improved muscle mass directly impacts metabolic health, supporting energy use, body composition, and long-term wellness

For women in midlife, this is so relevant — whether you lift, walk, chase kids, or just want to feel stronger day-to-day.

There’s a whole mental shift that has to happen before exercise stops feeling like punishment.

It’s completely okay to want aesthetic goals.
It’s okay to want to feel more confident in your body.
There’s nothing wrong with caring how you look.

But when the only reason you’re exercising is because you dislike your body, it usually doesn’t last. Movement turns into something you force, rush through, or quit the moment you feel discouraged.

Midlife requires a different approach.

This season is about metabolic health.
Building and protecting muscle.
Keeping lymph flowing.
Protecting bone health.
Nourishing well and with intention.
Creating a body that supports your life.
How your body LOOKS as a result is just the icing on the cake.

The shift happens when exercise becomes something you do because you care about your body, not because you’re trying to fix it.

That mindset doesn’t happen overnight. It starts with awareness and education.

That’s exactly what we’re focusing on inside our free Starting Strong learning event, January 20–22.
No extremes. No shame. Just simple, realistic tools for women in this season. Comment WELLNESS to join us. ā™„ļø
