Happy MonSLAY! What’re you doing to make this week kick off to a good start?
Today’s card involves reflection into your own reactions to relationships. The Sanskrit word dharma comes into play, meaning “the path of higher truths”. We are so busy with everyday life and with catering to other people, that we forget sometimes we need to just observe our own self. This brings about the topic of shadow, and projecting ours onto others; sometimes going so far as to call them the scapegoat. Transference is something that is born from past experiences, where we are transferring the idea of a former encounter with someone the current person reminds us of in some way. Both of these can be positive things, like projecting our strength that we ourselves are in denial about onto someone, or associating someone different with a friend because they look similar.
These moments, when caught and analyzed, can become a window to our own souls-a way to look beyond the surface of the looking glass. The lesson in this card is to catch these situations and see what that tells us about ourselves.
This card is “Dharma’s Reflection” from The Way of the Horse by Linda Kohanov.
