ACA Virtual Ethics in Counseling Summit
I had the privilege of co-presenting this session with a first-year LSU Counselor Education student, exploring ethical considerations in trauma treatment. Together, we examined clinician responsibility, client readiness, and how counselors can balance care with the ethical mandate to avoid harmβwhile remaining grounded in trauma-informed principles.
π¨βπ©βπ§ Kids Today: Trends in Adolescent Mental Health and Tips for Parents
This workshop brought together caregivers and parents of adolescents for an honest and supportive conversation about the challenges teens face today. We discussed current mental health trends and practical ways adults can foster connection, understanding, and emotional support at home.
ποΈ Balancing Duty and Care: Ethical Practice with Military Service Members and Veterans

This session focused on ethical practice with military service members and veterans, emphasizing cultural humility, role complexity, and population-specific ethical dilemmas. We also explored strategies for managing clinician compassion fatigue and preventing burnout while doing this privileged work with our societyβs warriors.
π£οΈ The Art of Communication: Counseling-Informed Strategies for Communication Sciences and Disorders Professionals
Alongside two second-year LSU Counselor Education students, I met with students and faculty in LSU Communication Sciences and Disorders to explore the psychosocial impacts faced by patients and families. We discussed compassionate, counseling-informed communication strategies and engaged in an experiential role-play activity to bring these skills to life.
