The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), Bureau of Aging, Community Living, and Supports is gathering input to inform the next State Plan on Aging (effective October 2027). This survey is open to Michigan residents aged 55+ and caregivers of older adults. Responses will help identify service gaps, shape statewide priorities, and guide future programs that directly impact the communities we all serve.

Survey Details:
Estimated time to complete: ~15 minutes
Deadline: December 15
Survey link: https://bit.ly/olderadultssurvey2729
Paper surveys: Can be returned where they were picked up or mailed to MDHHS (instructions included on the form).
Incentive: Participants who complete the full survey may opt into a drawing for a $50 gift card via a separate link.

It is not uncommon for us to begin caregiving for a friend or loved one long before we, ourselves, are eligible for Medicare. It can feel like a complex rabbit hole to fall into when you’ve had no experience with it.

The State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) offers Medicare recipients and their caregivers support with making Medicare enrollment decisions. Most plans can only be changed during Open Enrollment, so now is the time to schedule those appointments
