Congratulations to our Canton Ophthalmic Tech, Rachel Fedorka, who celebrated 10 years of service with us on Sunday, October 5.
Rachel started working with Dr. Nothnagel in 2015. This was four years before his practice joined RACI. Prior to that, Rachel worked in orthopedics and as a surgical tech. She has worked on eyes before, so she had the optical experience.
“I love Dr. Nothnagel,” said Rachel. “He’s so good with his patients. I also love working with Dr. Platt, and my coworkers are awesome. We get along well and do a good job working together.”
Rachel’s responsibilities include eye injections, prepping patients, and following the doctor.
“There’s always something new to learn, and it’s never boring,” said Rachel. “Even after 10 years, I’m still learning. I love it!”
Over the past decade, Rachel has noticed a significant patient increase. She used to be able to run two rooms by herself, and she can no longer do that now.
“There are so many more people to take care of,” explained Rachel. “A lot more patients need injections, which have come a long way. Thankfully, there are more injection options for patients who need them. We didn’t have that before.”
“It’s been nice getting to know Rachel over the last 10 years,” said Lead Tech Keri Miller. “She delivers fast but thorough clinical help, all while having an excellent rapport with the patients. They light up when they see her! She makes clinics fun with her great personality. She is committed to RACI, but I think her biggest accomplishment is juggling her career and raising her daughter. We are grateful to have her on the team!”
Rachel spends her free time with her 15-year-old daughter. She loves watching her play volleyball and run track. Rachel also enjoys hanging out with her friends, family, two dogs, and four cats.
Rachel, thank you for your dedication to RACI these past 10 years. We are truly fortunate to have you!
