Beckett Springs is a behavioral health hospital in West Chester, OH providing inpatient and outpatient programming for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors facing mental health and substance use challenges. Beckett Springs Behavioral Health Hospital offers inpatient mental health and addiction treatment, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programming in the West Chester, Ohio community. Our evidence-based treatment for adolescents and adults addresses a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and alcohol and drug addiction. We offer specialized treatment for active-duty military, veterans, first responders and other high-risk frontline professionals as part of our Help for Heroes Program, along with a Women's Only Program.

Meeting with Kat from Ohio Community Health Recovery Centers was a powerful reminder of the life-changing work happening in behavioral health every single day.

As a dual-diagnosis treatment facility, Ohio Community Health Recovery Centers serves adult men and women facing both substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders—a complex intersection that calls for compassion, clinical expertise, and collaboration across our continuum of care.

During our conversation, Kat shared how their team views recovery not simply as a destination, but as a journey—one grounded in evidence-based treatment, individualized care, and the belief that every person deserves the opportunity to heal and thrive.

Amanda, one of our Business Development Representatives, recently had the opportunity to connect with Beth from Mental Health America to learn more about their impactful Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) program.

This initiative provides critical training for first responders—including police, EMS, and fire personnel—on how to engage safely, compassionately, and effectively with individuals experiencing mental health crises.

The CIT program draws from two evidence-based models: the nationally recognized "Memphis Model" and Cincinnati’s own Mental Health Response Team (MHRT).

What makes this program stand out is its broad impact. It’s not just for law enforcement—it benefits all first responders and enhances safety for individuals in crisis, first responders on the scene, and the broader community.

The program is made possible through support from the Hamilton County Mental Health & Recovery Services Board, the City of Cincinnati, and generous private donors.

Meet Jess, one of our Utilization Management Specialist and September Employee of the Month. Jess has been part of the Beckett Springs team for 4 years, beginning her journey as a Music Therapist before transitioning into Utilization Management last year.

Jess shares, “What I love about working here is the team — the way we support each other and the knowledge that every person here is doing their best to take care of patients during some of the worst times of their lives, each in different yet important ways.” 💚

When she’s not at work, Jess enjoys reading, listening to music, and spending time with her dogs.
