Respect is not something that you should have to earn. Everyone deserves respect. It's time to see your own value and stop seeking validation and approval. You are worthy and deserving right now...as you are.
Those of you who are givers do not give in order to receive. You give because you're a kind soul. But, giving and receiving brings balance. It's even energy exchange. If you're constantly giving in a relationship, friendship, or in the workplace, and not receiving, it throws things out of balance. It slowly diminishes your sense of self-worth. Recognizing your worth and expecting respect is not selfish. You deserve it..we all do.
Don't ever stop giving, but know when to kindly speak up or break away when it's not being reciprocated. This is one of the greatest acts of self-love. Your value, feelings, and boundaries matter, too.
