Thinking about getting your kid a bike for the holidays? 🎁🚲
Our biggest PT recommendation: skip the coaster brakes!

👉 What are coaster brakes?
They’re the brakes that activate when your child pedals backwards. While common on beginner bikes, they can make it harder for kids to learn balance and safe stopping. Coaster brakes can also get in the way when kids try to adjust their foot position, leading to wobbles or falls.

✅ Instead, choose a bike with hand brakes — they’re easier to control, build skills that transfer to bigger bikes, and help kids develop more confident riding. Give the gift of movement — and set them up for long-term success! 🌟🚴‍♂️

✅ TRY THIS AT HOME: Word Witt

Word Witt is endorsed by the University of Michigan Dyslexia Help Center and is highly recommended for students or adults with dyslexia. The game consists of three vowel dice, consonant cards, a one-minute timer and scoring and writing pads.

How to do it:
1️⃣ Roll the vowel dice
2️⃣ Flip over a consonant card
3️⃣ Set the 1-minute timer
4️⃣ Everyone builds as many real words as they can before time runs out!
✨ Adjust difficulty for younger kids by giving extra time or helping brainstorm together.

Why it helps:
Word Witt strengthens sound awareness, spelling, vocabulary, word recognition, and concentration — great skills for children with dyslexia and fun for adults too!

Pro Tip:
Try sorting words by categories (animals, foods, places) to reinforce meaning and memory.

Make it fun:
Play in teams, or give bonus points for the longest or funniest word!
