Each pregnancy is unique, and no one can promise you a specific kind of pregnancy or birth. Your body naturally exists to survive. By nature it is beautiful and unpredictable. That is why it is so important to be informed and to listen to your intuition. I had one natural, epidural-free birth by absolute luck and one comfortably induced stillbirth. Both still made and remade me a mom.

Run away from anyone who claims they have the algorithm for a natural birth and run towards people who are unbiased and will make you feel safe. No one should ever pressure you to have any specific kind of birth. You know your body better than anyone else and you know your baby better than anyone else.

Honored to share this space with 300 people now.

When I first became a doula, started a website, taking clients, and building up an Instagram, I thought I knew everything about birth. I thought I had seen every birth last year when I took my last client. I thought I had a wicked counter pressure, hop squeeze, hand hold. There is so much more to birth than being there as a witness.

As I wander deeper into the unknown of the birth world, I'm learning more and more that birth and death are two sides of the same coin. You cannot have one without the other. As I continue to shift and mold what my doula support looks like, I will start to honor pregnancy loss more. I will focus more deeply on listening to my birthing people about their concerns. I will prepare them to count kicks and bond with their babies to learn their normal. I will lean harder into the third trimester. And most importantly, I will rid myself of gaslighting and toxic lines like "your body knows how to do this."

Friends, our bodies are wonderful and mysterious, but let's not put pressure on them to know and do it all. When something goes wrong with the body, we think it's our fault and wow is it not.

I don't know how it's taken me this long to create a birth class but this one is the baby I never got to hold.

It's stunning.

It's inclusive toall birth outcomes. Its not pretentious. It has gentle language and includes discussion. It's not just for the natural birthers. This class is a home for loss moms too, (hi, I am one afterall).

It's a live class that helps couples navigate the last trimester, labor, and recovery.

We will discuss learning your baby's normal, the stages of labor, inductions, c sections, what happens at a birthing center or hospital, how your partner can help, wound recovery and so so so much more.

This class is only open to 4-6 couples/parents because I want there to be some one on one time. I do have a private class option.

Hi friends! For all my folks trying to decide what kind of birth is best for them, this is just a *start*. Not everything on this visual applies to all Homebirth and hospital scenarios. ♥️

This visual is highly simplified and doesn't delve into some of the nuances between home and hospital birth.

From here, you can refine your search. Talk to Homebirth midwives, hospital midwives, OB practices--to make a decision that fits your family's needs.

It also doesn't compare a birthing center (which most are more like a hospital birth because of the presence of nursing and other medical staff, with the exception of .birth.center !!)
