💊 Magnesium: Miracle Mineral or Hidden Risk? Magnesium is essential for muscles, nerves, and energy — but did you know the wrong form or too much can actually make you sick?

A patient with GERD, HTN, OA with recent medical history: UTI and Covid complained about severe fatigue, brain fog, dizziness, diarrhea, and cramps… after a thorough intake and exam, with a review of medication, supplements and diet. Turned out, "2 scoops of magnesium a day!" was the culprit. Overdosing supplements they thought were “ok.” More isn’t always better.

👉 Glycinate and malate are gentle. Citrate works too, but can loosen stools. Each has its ideal function.
👉 Always consult doctors to check the dosage and form. Know why you need it and what you are treating for
👉 If the problem is GI absorption, over dosing supplement can cause more burden

✨ Supplements can help — but only when used wisely. Use smart, live healthy, and don’t let “yummy powders” turn into health problems.

From the mist of a mountain waterfall to the stillness of a forested lake, and the serene mineral Hot Springs — each moment reminds us that nature’s waters hold space for reflection, renewal, and release. Whether wrapped in mineral warmth or breathing in ionic mist, we return to ourselves through the gentle power of flow.

🌿 Reflections from ND's Practice 🌿

A patient came in with a bad infection that had lasted a month. When I asked why she hadn’t taken antibiotics, she replied: “I thought you wouldn’t recommend them.”

I explained: “No. That’s incorrect. Your treatment is based on overall assessment. I would have recommended antibiotics to you 3 weeks ago. I have many medical treatment options, and I don’t limit care to herbs or supplements. My goal is always try to find the root cause and choose the best solution for each individual.”

Years ago, another patient came in requesting herb and acupuncture for mild abdominal pain. After few minutes intake and a physical exam, I ordered an X-ray and sent her to the ER immediately. No acupuncture or herbs! She required an emergency surgery for an acute mesenteric ischemia.

Being a doctor is not easy. Each case demands responsibility, discernment, and compassion. I hold myself to the highest standards because patients deserve nothing less.

✨ Grateful Reflections as a ND & EAMP ✨
Four weeks ago, a patient walked into the clinic after suffering from a chronic illness for 3+ years. She had already spent thousands of dollars on tests and medications from EENT, GI, dentists, and PCPs, yet still asked me with hope in her eyes: “Is there a chance?”
As a doctor with scientist and engineer background, my approach is methodical. I ask questions—lots of them—because tracing upstream often reveals the true source of illness. After 40 minutes of gathering her medical history, I performed a physical exam (something she was surprised that no other doctor had done). I told her I was confident about the cause but needed blood work to confirm.
One week later, we reviewed the results and mapped out a treatment plan. She looked at me and asked, “Is it really that simple? This has been my problem for years!” My answer: “Let’s see. My hypothesis is built on science, conventional medicine, and Chinese medicine—two medical licenses and years of clinical experience.”
Today, 4 weeks later, she returned. Bingo. Without drugs, without many supplements, problem 90% resolved. Yes, there is hope. Yes, it can be simple, but you have to find the cause, remove the obstacle to cure.
🙏 I am deeply grateful for the wisdom of Naturopathic Medicine and East Asian Medicine. Treating the root cause is the most powerful way to tackle complex chronic illness.

As golden leaves drift gently to the earth, the maple tree enters its season of rest—releasing, healing, and preparing for renewal.

Autumn reminds us that letting go is not loss, but restoration. Just as trees shed their burdens to conserve energy, we too are invited to release stress, trauma, and fatigue.

In this quiet moment, may out find peace, serenity, and the nourishment our body and spirit need to begin again.

When it rains, it pours—literally.
This week, life delivered a double blow:
💥 My car—hit by someone. 車被撞了
💧 My bathroom ceiling—collapsed after a storm 天塌下來了
🌧️ My nervous system—overwhelmed
28 years without injury accidents, 2 happened in one week. 🤦‍♀️
And yet… I’m still here. No one was hurt. That’s my anchor.

In the midst of chaos, I stayed calm to care for complex illness till Friday at 7:30pm. I guess that’s my calling. #

I return to treat myself after all patients left:
✨ FSM (Frequency Specific Microcurrent) to calm the nervous shock
💧 Hydrotherapy to release tension
🫁 Breath, stillness, and gratitude—because even in collapse, there’s clarity

I’m not sharing this for sympathy. I’m sharing it because we all have weeks like this. And when we do, we need reminders that healing isn’t just about fixing what’s broken—it’s about tending to what’s still whole. Suffering 🥹 yet a blessing🙏. Need to stay positive.

So here’s to the quiet tools that hold us. To the inner work that no one sees. To the sweetness of being safe, even when things fall apart.

A follow-up Pt conversation at the clinic today:
Pt: I have been through a decade of suffering. Thousands spent in testing and treatments with many doctors, but still not better. You listened and helped! What you did is a miracle! It's the first time in years I feel better!!!
I: That's great!
Pt: .... You must have been through a lot to be able to handle a case like mine?
I: I smiled. Yes. Suffering is a blessing.
