It’s been a whirlwind of a week, but grateful for so many special moments! From connecting with kids at all of our schools, to creating space for students old and new , I’m so thankful each day to do what I do. ✨

Here comes the sun...☀️

Parsvakonasana (side angle pose) is a wonderful shape to visit this time of year, as we all work to cultivate balance. A dynamic posture, this asana requires us to both ground down into earth's energy, while also taking up space in the ether. Like the autumn season, we find ourselves hovering between the time of sunshine and abundance, and the preparation for quiet reflection that winter holds. We are here, in between extremes, determining what to hold on to and what to let go of. A dance of giving and receiving, opening up and tuning in. Fall gifts us with the invitation to see ourselves more clearly, so that we can spend this time of change moving toward a deeper sense of self. The YOU who's always been there. ✨

I know I have some new friends here so it's time for some introductions! I'm Jen, and I'm a mama, yoga teacher (to all ages!), Ayurvedic Health Counselor (yoga's sister science), ocean lover, former school teacher, and PNW enthusiast. I teach regular classes and throughout the school year, offer after school enrichment through my beloved business 🧘🏼‍♀️🧘🏽‍♂️🧘🏻🐦

My husband and I recently opened our beautiful space in historic Fairhaven, and are so honored to be serving the incredible community of Bellingham and Whatcom county. I now offer Ayurvedic consultations (where we dive into diet and lifestyle shifts and routines to meet YOUR needs and personal constitution), private yoga sessions (a perfect way to take your practice to the next level, or get solid on foundations), combinations of the two, and special seasonal events. All appointments are available both in person and virtually!

My husband is now offering acupuncture services, and caters to a wide array of needs. You can find us both ! ✨🌊

Rooted Flow’s Mission

Rooted Flow Yoga aims to provide a personal experience for each practitioner, no matter the level of training or background, by encouraging individuals to look within. With an emphasis on prana energy and breath, Jen guides her students through mindfully sequenced movement within an accessible vinyasa-based flow. Students can expect to work hard, breathe deeply, and leave their mats feeling more at home in their bodies and minds.

In a hectic world, it’s more common than not to lose touch with truest selves; our hopes, dreams, wants, and needs. As we breathe, bend, and move within our yoga practice, we are reminded of the authenticity buried beneath all of the layers, rooted deeply within. It is only from this pure awareness that we are capable of flowing with the ebb of life.

Give yourself the gift of time, of energy, of release, of connection to who you’ve always been. Give yourself back to you; root down and find the freedom to flow.
