Our unhoused neighbors have medical needs just like everyone else. Unfortunately, medical conditions have a much more severe impact on them, reducing their ability to cope and function. Whatcom Street Medicine volunteers provide care in the streets and alleys where people are. Thanks for your support.

You can find our Whatcom Street Medicine volunteers and the HOT team downtown and at the Recovery Cafe, Tuesday afternoons helping deliver first aid and wound care to our unhoused neighbors. Last year our healthcare teams donated over 2,000 hours of volunteer time, thanks for the support!!

Whatcom Street Medicine is looking for doctors, nurse practitioners and nurses to join the local Medical Reserve Corp and train to be part of our volunteer team. Go to www.whatcomstreetmedicine.org for sign-up link. Next training in February.

Whatcom Street Medicine has had a very successful year with more encounters and care given than ever before, thanks to all the healthcare volunteers who come out to provide care to our unhoused neighbors. We also value our trusted outreach partners on the Opportunity Council HOT team and the Road2Home Outreach as well. Private donations and grants from PeaceHealth and Mount Baker Foundation have kept us well supplied to do this work!

"How can we help? What can we do for you, today?" Whatcom Street Medicine volunteers use a person-centered approach to provide trauma informed care to our unhoused neighbors. We collaborate with local outreach service professionals like HOT members from Opportunity Council to help us reach out to those in need.

Our doctor and nurse volunteers provide first aid and basic wound care from head to toe. Our motto is "Go to the people" and we are thankful we can partner with Opportunity Counsel Homeless Outreach Team to do that weekly.
