Inverted respiratory muscle training uses gravity to create resistance and challenges the muscles to be used differently. It also takes shoulders and neck muscles out of the mix.

During inspiration, the diaphragm contracts up instead of down, and intercostals expand outwards and downwards instead of upwards.

The weight of the internal organs push on the rib cage from the opposite direction so narrowing on the exhale becomes challenging.

It’s garbage day 🗑️ but not just outside!
Your body has its own trash pickup system too, and it runs on deep, diaphragmatic breathing.

🫁 When your diaphragm moves, it creates pressure changes that help pump lymph fluid flushing out toxins, waste, and excess fluid.
🚫 Unlike your heart, your lymphatic system doesn’t have a pump… so if you’re breathing shallow all day, the “trash” piles up.
♻️ Deep belly breathing = internal detox in action.

So before you roll your bin to the curb today, take a minute to roll your breath down into your belly.
Your body will thank you. 💨✨

A different type of "resistance training" that is easy, effective, and kinda wierd.

Before trying this, please convert to consistent nasal breathing, the way human were meant to breathe 99% of the time.

Then you are ready to step it up to single nostril resistance training. I use wax plugs in one nostril and worked up to walking 5-7 minutes with one nostril plugged, then 5-7 minutes plugging the other nostril. It's doesn’t matter how long, just try it and explore sensations of air hunger.

It's amazing how it feels to breathe through both nostrils after breathing through only one.

Results from this training:
-improved breathing efficiency
-increase lung capacity
-decrease CO2 sensitivity
-better diaphragm activation

Healthy resistance yields resilience.
