Dear Friends,
As we head toward the end of the year, everyone here at BCCIL wants to wish you the warmest of Holiday greetings mixed with deep appreciation and gratitude for your support during this past year. It was not exactly the best of times, but with your tangible, emotional, and financial support — we got through it. And I think, thanks to the amazing strength of our consumers and our staff, we also made some incredible achievements.
Even through the long months when the state was unable to pass a budget, we were able to keep our core services going, even if it had to be at a reduced pace. Because the need never slows down.
Despite the recent setbacks, looking at where we are now versus where we started almost four years ago is a reminder of how much we’ve grown. BCCIL has always been a small group with a big goal: support and share the philosophy of Independent Living throughout Bucks County. Now we have grown stronger in our services, found our footing, and integrated ourselves into the Bucks County community through partnerships with local schools, hospitals, and local events. We have traveled side by side with our customers all the way to our State Capital of Harrisburg and advocated for Disability Rights face to face with our lawmakers. Every day we look to find new ways to break barriers, find solutions, and adapt to the ever-changing world around us.
And we’re not stopping here. In 2026, we’ll be hard at work strengthening our new programs, launching new initiatives, and taking on new opportunities. Without your support, none of this could have happened.
All of the holidays celebrated this time of year have a few things in common — like a focus on blessings, light and joy. I remember a consumer’s mother asking me if I realized what a blessing this organization was to her family. I think about the way consumers faces light up when they tell me they learned a new skill or got a job. And I think about the joy and laughter that just bubbles up in the room whenever the Bucks Young Adult Group gets together.
Again, thank you for your support. And if you are able, please visit https://buckscil.org/donate-2/ to make an end-of-year gift. All of us at BCCIL wish you a wonderful Holiday Season and a very Happy New Year!
